The PS3's most dramatic and beautiful racing game. [Issue#172, p.72]
  2. Fans of Motorstorm will love Pacific Rift.
  3. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is a great sequel that offers more of what we loved in the first game. You have more tracks and better designs and four unique environments, and with streamlined presentation and navigation, challenging AI, and awesome online play when the AI isn't enough, Pacific Rift is the arcade racer to beat.
  4. An improvement in every possible way over the original MotorStorm, this is what we all knew the original could be. [Dec 2008, p.76]
  5. A very good racing game worth any attention you have left in this very busy gaming season. If you have a break from work or school anytime soon though, keep this game on your shopping list. Racing game fans? Pick it up right now!
  6. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is everything I would have hoped for in a MotorStorm sequel. Sure, it still has some of those quirks found in the original that players may love or hate, but Evolution Studios has put together a well-rounded racer that improves greatly on the original in every way.
  7. There are a larger variety of vehicles this time around, with additions such as the ATV and monster truck almost bookending the assortment of bikes, buggies, and trucks that you can select.

As it stands, Pacific Rim edges out "Pure" as the most enjoyable off-road racer on the market.
  9. I definitely enjoyed Motorstorm: Pacific Rift far more than I did the original, and the additional content and race styles do a lot for a game that already had some solid mechanics behind it.

Pacific Rift is what the original MotorStorm should have been, and is a must for any racing fans with a knack for destruction and chaos.
  11. 90
Fans of the previous MotorStorm title or off-road racing in general will definitely enjoy this follow-up. But the easy learning curve and fast-paced action might be enough to keep gamers who don't normally play racing games entertained.
  12. Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is the perfect treatment for gamers who want a down-and-dirty old school racing experience.
  13. 89
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has been a long time coming - and has had other off-road contenders like Pure nipping at its heels - but the old magic that made the first one a ripper is back, with more vehicles, loads more tracks and a better implemented online feature set. Unless you hate off-road car games with a venomous passion this is pretty much a must-have.
  14. In conclusion, MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift truly delivers on the original game that has improved graphics, better gameplay and new vehicles.
  15. As a sequel to the original, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift does a great job of addressing the major issues that MotorStorm had to give racing fans a much more complete experience for their money.

It's the multiplayer that perhaps been given the most love since the last game.
  17. If you are coming from the original title, there is enough depth here to warrant a purchase, just don’t expect a revolutionary successor to the first game, but more of an evolution to the franchise.
  18. Pacific Rift is an excellent racer, however it’s real strength lies in it’s online multiplayer.

I have given it a 9 because after a while it gets boring, however it will never get boring if you constantly have a friend round round who's motorstorm mad. In festival it is hard so you need to be very skilled to get to rank 8. I think if it would have had better online and more variety in cars and tracks so then i would have given it a 10. I think that in motorstorm apocalypse it will have better online and more variety so when i get that and review that i think I'll give it a 10. I think pacific rift is worth buying and i think it will be worth getting apocalypse in the future Full Review »

the best driving arcade game of the gaming history. It is wild and frenetic, you can feel the motor and gasoline running in your blood to and you can fly the heavier metal. Its simply the best Full Review »

Best arcade racer you will find on any console. Amazing graphics and the cars all handle well. Each vehicle handles differently, but there is vehicle better than the rest, resulting in a very balanced game. The PS3 handles it perfectly with no slow down, no matter what chaos is going on around, with great use of the Havok physics engine. Each level has many ways around them. I've been playing for over 10 hours and am still finding new paths for different vehicles. Any review saying the game suffers from slow down or bad grapahics (Frank B.) clearly has not played the game, not to mention the ludacrious claim of the PS3 breaking down all the time. If you doubt the graphics, just find some screen shots. It really is a great game. Full Review »
