Starting as an unknown pilot, players fight to become a celebrated hero as they defeat dangerous enemies in aerial combat, test their reflexes in fast-paced speed challenges, and take on massive enemy bosses that demand all their skills as a pilot to survive. As they progress, players build, customize and tune their aircraft to give them an edge in combat – upgrade wings for swifter maneuvers, switch out the engine for a speed boost, or change the paint job to camouflage the plane and avoid enemy fire. Addictive missions and good customisation combine to make a game full of fun. [Issue#232, p.94]

Like its previous offshoots, MySims SkyHeroes feels like a "lite" version of other, stronger games. In this case, players feel like they're playing a watered-down version of Crimson Skies for the original Xbox.
  3. As a solid, enjoyable aerial Mario Kart alternative, this is a pleasant surprise, especially if you're someone who finds Simlish consistently hilarious. [Issue#51, p.109]
  4. The older gamers will find it a little too slow-paced, but My Sims Skyheroes still has some appeal for younger ones. It's a light and enjoyable plane game for kids to enjoy either solo or with their friends, even though we'd hoped for a more inspired design for a broader appeal.
  5. Think Mario Kart meets Crimson Skies. In Mysims Sky Heroes you will find yourself competing in races as well as shooting other enemies in dog fights. It's a fun concept, but after a while it gets boring because of the lack of variation.
  6. What starts out as a simple but entertaining aerial jaunt quickly becomes monotonous and shallow, making it hard to justify its price tag.
  7. MySims SkyHeroes is just another game out there that does nothing special in it's delivery.

The flying controls are not exciting and sometimes I feel like its on rails. I don't believe a child would be excited about it, even though thats might be the target audience. Get a game the whole family will love, like Mario Cart or Sonic Racing. Expand
