  1. Neverdead is a strange, but fascinating creature. Originality is hard to find nowadays, but Neverdead has plenty of it. Many of the game's puzzles require you to deliberately grab hold of an electric conductor until your body explodes into a flaming spark. [February 2012, p.94]

A game with mixed results. It tries to innovate in the action genre but falls midway, and it has some technical problems and gameplay flaws. It has very good ideas, but the implementation of some of them is poor, and that makes its gameplay suffer. Maybe with some more time or budget this would have been a much better game.

There's a pretty good game to be found here underneath a considerable pile of design and execution flaws. It's worth a look right now for the more patient, curious, and tolerant player, but if you're on the fence, you might wait until the summer gaming drought.

NeverDead rocks with the music and the visuals can be a treat but beyond that, it's not much fun. There are just too many problems that hinder one's enjoyment, and those problems are critical because they translate to faultless deaths.

  1. This game is a new IP that deserves recognition. It has really good new ideas, good gameplay, good graphics and entertaining story. If you are a gamer that gets frustrated a lot, you will hate this game just like the ones that are pissed off because "they get dismembered a lot". The game difficulty depends on how you approach it. Obviously you cant actually die, but there are many ways to get a "game over" screen, and many of the times you get it, may be because you probably ended up being swallowed. You have ways to upgrade your character that allows to overcome most scenarios. Depending on the enemy you can change tactic by using your sword or guns.

The only thing that should probably be fixed is the fact that "rolling" should not be necessary to re-attach your limbs. And the popping textures. The game doesn't take it self seriously that is why it has really funny moments, and a cheesy but FUN story. The graphics are nice, and the character design is good. Definitively a good first step for a new IP.

The fact that a company is taking risks by creating new IPs this generation is admirable and must be appreciated. This generation is overflowed with FPS, if you hate that, then support this game.

I enjoyed Neverdead way more than any of the latest Modern Warfare or Black Ops titles... and that said by a huge fan of military FPS. It's fun even if some called the loosing limbs stuff repetitive. In the final boss fights it can get annoying if you do not act quick enough but overall it's quite cool. The mixture of swordplay and gun shooting is fun and satisfying and the occasional puzzles do their job quite well too.
If you love weird stories with classy lines of text, then this is a game you should pick up!
Worth to get a sequel for sure.

Its not a good game. it's not a bad game. it's a game wich is meh and hmm at the same time.
A guy who cannot die. Yes it sounds pretty neat a
nd it is. WHO i ask WHO would not like to rip of an arm hit your friend with it and then put it back like it was a lego piece? nobody that's who.

The thing is that this game need's, is a better controls and combos OH MAN would i love to see some combos.
sure you can elecrute yourself and elecrute enemies, or throw your hand inside an enemie and shoot from the inside. But there needs to be more. A game which shows us this interesting new thingy, they must use it more, example: you got an arm, window and an enemie, you throw your hand into the window roll it on the pieces and feed to the enemie. example #2: you see an barrel of gasoline and a stack of tnt and a downhill you take the stack, jump in, be ready with the lighter. when in midle of the baddies light it up and enjoy fireworks.
What im going for is, this game would have shined if it went more with this new mechanic. instead most of the game is DmC kinda gameplay. so yes. less dmc.

  4. NeverDead is a must buy!!! NOT. This game is the biggest load of crap I have seen since Aqua Man battle for Atlantis. Its clunky controls only add to the misery of blurry and unrendered environments. Enemies are repeated since the first level through out the whole game, and boss fights are boring and also repetitive. Not only that but there are many bugs and glitches scattered through out the whole game, did you know that?? Try and find them all!!! The only reason I gave it a 1 not a 0 is because I like the upgrade system easy and simple to use.
Overall this game is terrible and if you ever encounter it at the shops I suggest you walk away and don't look back. Oh just too add multi player is disgustingly terrible (weird adjective right?) I felt like destroying the disk when I first when on to it. 9/10
