    The presentation is better, the graphics better, but the gameplay and goal setting are frustrating, especially when some GMs don't give you much to work with. On one end, you may do the right things for the long term and no one appreciates it, and you end up like DePodesta. The other extreme, you try to make the GM and the fans happy, and you end up like Bill Bavasi. However, it does allow for better scouting tools, extensive personality typing, and allows teams to scout on pro days, workouts, combines, etc. Two steps forward, one step back. Decent game that needs to clean a few areas.… Expand

    My wife picked this up in the bargin bin for me. I played it for a few days but returned it. The good is that it has about the best off-season mode of any EA game to date. The bad is that you don't get to control the players and the graphics are on the level of Madden 95. So what's the point of having a football game if you can't play football? Back to the store it went.

    This game is like your favorite team going from a 5-11 season one year to a 6-10 record the next. Regardless of whatever improvements have occurred, you aren't going anywhere with that kind of record.

    Even with its quirks and bugs, NFL Head Coach 09 is the type of game that will silently siphon away hours of your free time. Sitting down at night after the family has gone to bed to get in an hour or so of game time only to discover that all of a sudden it's the middle of the night and your eyes are straining.
