  1. The additional characters are fun to play with, and revamped difficulty means that more players should be able to get some enjoyment out of the game, without feeling needlessly frustrated with a few annoying aspects.

As a ninja connoisseur I can easily say this game is one of the top ninja based titles on the market with the exception of the grand daddy of all ninja games: Ninja Blade.
  3. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has enough extra content and polish to make it the hands down, definitive version of the game.
  4. Though it's the remake of a game released over a year ago, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 confirms to be an excellent exponent of the action genre. If you already played the game on its Xbox 360 version, however, there's no reason to buy it once again.

There's certainly enough material in here to keep you occupied for hours on end and the wealth of freshly added ninja-gubbins demonstrates Team Ninja's commitment to providing real value for money. Having said that, the sheer unflinching brutality of Ninja Gaiden 2 on Xbox 360, for us, makes it the definitive version of the game.
  6. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a good action game, a great one even. There are just some minor things that stop a whole hearted recommendation.
  7. Not only is the gameplay starting to feel dated—especially in the wake of Batman: Arkham Asylum’s brilliant combo system—but the few small additions simply aren’t enough to offset the handful of surprising oversights and omissions.

While this game doesn't have alot blood and gore, this game is till one of the best action titles out there. The sleek style of Sigma 2 While this game doesn't have alot blood and gore, this game is till one of the best action titles out there. The sleek style of Sigma 2 really gives it a unique feel to it compared to it's 360 counter part. There is some camera issues but I feel it adds to the game difficulty as it's a difficult game in itself. I actually think it's a little easier to do combos than sigma 1. All in all, this game isn't for everyone and some may dislike the change of direction for this title, but it really is a terrific game worth a rent and hey, with trophy hunters out there who wouldn't want a few more in their collection. The blood removal was somewhat of a letdown but you hardly notice it when the action gets really intense. Story as most NG games go is forgettable but the co-op is a nice addition which adds longevity to an already long game. Expand

Graphics aren't improved much as far as environments go but the characters do show more detail than the 360 counterpart. There are a couple things that I don't like about this version. One is the removal of the blood and gore. In the 360 version it really adds to the gameplay and atmosphere. When you are cutting off limbs, you see red blood not purple mist. That is completely dumbing down the game and gives it a less brutal feel. Also enemy count was decreased but the AI is more intelligent so it makes up for that shortcoming. The game however is much easier due to the fact that projectile spamming has been significantly reduced. All these shortcomings make it feel less brutal compared to the 360 counterpart. I've beaten the 360 version twice so it will be easier for me. One thing I do like is the new and improved bow and arrow. It's much easier to shoot enemies with it and there are unlimited arrows much like your shurikens. The new boss battles are entertaining and challenging so that is a welcomed improvement. The online mode is fun and I haven't experienced many lag issues. Overall the action is great and the game is alot of fun. If you haven't played the 360 version then get this game. It's not as good as the first game but it's still a solid installment to the series. In the next NG hopefully they combine the brutality that the 360 version offers with the updated visuals and management of accessories like the bow and arrow as well as management of your essence and weapon upgrading. Plus the game should have been longer and get rid of the female characters in the single player campaign. They completely ruin the pace of the game. That would bring NG back to the top among action games. Expand

Its harder, and a lot less fun. I think modern Shinobi games starting with Shinobi 3 and Shinobi on PS2 are far more interesting ninja games. This isn't something I'd be impressed with and I couldn't find a redeeming quality in it besides the graphics. Thats that. Expand

I feel insulted by the obvious This game is dumbed down to the ground for the immature children, even though it got a mature rating. I feel insulted by the obvious censorship. The game is boring with nothing but run to point A, button mash, run to point B, button mash. What happen when you cut a guys head off? Does purple dust come out in real life? No!!! Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 will be much more worthy in a mature gamer's collection. This is filled with emo purple haired kids with silly looking fake boobs slapped on to their chests. The coop mode is lag central and the graphics are weak. Pass on this. Expand
