  • Summary: In Port Royale 3, players will embark upon an epic adventure through the Caribbean during the turbulent 17th century where the naval powers of Spain, England, France and the Netherlands all fight for supremacy in the colonies. Players take on the role of a young captain trying to build his fortune and reputation in the new world colonies. The campaign consists of two different paths for the young protagonist to follow: adventurer and trader.

Following the path of the adventurer will lead the player on a naval conquest where they must gain notoriety through raids, piracy, bounty hunting, plundering and conquering cities as they strive to build their new Caribbean empire.

Port Royale 3 is a deep simulation of a merchant's life in the 17th century. Unfortunately, a merchant's life isn't all that exiting.

If you don't meet these criteria (those with saintly patience), chances are you'll get bored after an hour or two. [Issue#224, p.83]
  3. Essentially an account simulator (woo!) punctuated by the odd cannon-on-cannon scuffle. [Nov 2012, p.105]

Fans of the old KOEI strategy games from the 90s will definitely appreciate this game, I hope we see more like it on consoles in the future. If you were a fan of the KOEI's Uncharted series from the SNES days then this game will feel familiar, except with a lot more depth to it. Collapse

Port Royale 3 is a fun RTS/resource management game with ships and pirate battles.

I like that you can buy and sell
goods, build a fleet and build businesses in towns. I also like the pirate battles.

It is nice this was ported to PS3. Not too many other games in this genre are available for PS3

Some of the Controls and UI functions were a little odd to me at first, but I got used to it.

Port Royale 3 is a awesome RTS/resource management game. The battles are not that great, but they are fun for a while. Trading resources was fun in beginning like an hour then i got bored and started a rout(too bad there is a limit of routs). In the end when i got the platinium trophy i had to afk 12 hours for 50 hours trophy and i had 500 mill money. After this i had nothing to do really, but gain more money for nothing to use it on. I have bought the two dlc's the pirate one was good, but the other was useless for me because i already had so much money. The new buildings were great tho, but i dont think they worth 5euros. I would recommend this to every1 who doesn't need that exiting action. Expand
