The best platformer from yesteryear brought bang up to date. Although the graphics aren't jaw dropping they do look good, the animation fluid (as it should be with this series) and the levels look lovely. As for hte game itself. Somehow they have managed to take the original game, add all the things you wanted to do in the original (wall runs? Back flips? its all here) whilst not actually changing how the games original levels work. The only reason its dropped a point it due to the confusing and pointless online 'scoring' system. In a game where getting from the beginning to the end as fast as possible, why have they used a point system? How do you even earn points? This is never explained and has defeated the very point of the online rankings. Expand

Prince of Persia Classic is certainly short, but it's oh so sweet. In many ways this is the template future enhanced classic games should follow.

Unlike last month's teeth-grinding "Mega Man 9," you won't feel like yu're being bullied by your own videogame. [Issue#173, p.92]
  3. Classic is still worth the 7.99 entry fee. Just. [Jan 2009, p.95]
