The Forgotten Sands is more than just a return to form for a long-running franchise: it's also one of the most gratifying platforming epics to come along in ages. [Aug 2010, p.90]
  2. The waffly plot, so-so action and unlovable Prince taint some ace platforming. [July 2010, p.92]
  3. The Forgotten Sands is a conceptual step back for the franchise, but for once that's not a terrible thing. The Sands of Time trilogy was hugely entertaining, and this return to that formula puts a great face on the franchise to new series converts while pleasing old fans with a return to form.
  4. While these puzzles feel fussed-over, with difficulty that ramps up steadily and organically, the combat comes off like a clunky, lifeless afterthought.
  5. The prince's high-flying adventure is marred by camera issues and weak combat, but the excellent platforming is still loads of fun.
  6. What holds the game back from being a truly stellar title is its dreadful combat system, as well as its lack of originality.
  7. Despite good level design and gameplay […], the prince of Persia's new adventures are just a little rehash.

If you like platforming games then this is the game for you! From start to finish this game impresses from game play to graphics to basically everything else. The final boss fight (not going to give away any spoilers) was one of the best things I have ever seen in any game, it combined the great combat and platforming the series is well known for perfectly. The new powers the Prince has in the Forgotten Sands also add a lot to the game and a linear but good story line also is also present here. The only problem in the game was that it was short, it is approximately a 9 hour game, depending on how good you are at figuring out puzzles (which are amazing in this game). Saying that I just recommend this game would be an understatement, this is one of my favourite games of all time. Expand

Forgotten Sands was a surprisingly pleasant experience. I originally bought this game expecting nothing more than an abomination but I walked away happy with my $15.00 purchase. The game has a simple enough battle system where you can quickly start punching face right away without any struggle. My only annoyance about the fighting system is that the command to jump followed by jumping upon a target is not refined enough to my liking. I ended flying by enemies countless times. The puzzles are fun and gathering the "Sarcophagi" throughout the game came to be a pleasant hunt. The story is nothing special and the ending was lackluster. I was able to gather all my trophies in one play-through with doing the trials after I beat the game. Whether you are looking for an easy platinum or just want a way to kill 8 hours without bashing your head into a wall by the stupidity of a game, I would recommend purchasing this game used. Expand

An amazing platformer with some average combat is what I could say to shorten this review down by a lot, but i'm not. The newest entry to the Prince Of Persia series lives up to all expectations, climbing is tense and is a satisfying core gameplay mechanic, combat see's you take on lots of enemy's in one go, the story is pants and it overall feels like a solid game. Like I said climbing and using your ability's to smoothly over-come obstacles that normal humans would find impossible is brilliant fun. But unfortunately as the name suggests the game was soon forgotten despite how awesome it actually is. It had little problems yes, such as the combat being not as good as say Assassins Creed and the story was quite dull, but it is a very good game worthy of every pound and pence. Expand

Forgotten Sands was the suprise game for me in 2010. I got it cheap and gived it a go. For me, it's the best in Prince of Persia series, while its more easier it has better gameplay too. Controls, graphics are better then any title in Prince of Persia games before. Game lasts about 8-10 hours but it's very enjoyful time. Decent game with a decent story and good gameplay. It isn't a game of score 10 but it's a short, nice game to play through. Expand
