Arguably less fluid and immediate than its rival FIFA 12, PES 2012's superior single-player game is nevertheless deep, challenging and often outright magical. [Dec 2011, p.102]

If you haven't played a soccer game for a few years, I would recommend that you check out PES 2012 because it offers both a sturdy single-player and multiplayer engine that has a considerably amount of longevity and replay value.

PES 2012 is definitely a great game and deserves to be looked at by sports fans and soccer fans alike. Sure, the lack of an official FIFA license kind of sucks, but the solid visuals, good sound, and easy to pick up, but tough to master controls make this a virtual soccer game worth playing.

Back in good shape last year, PES now confirms that it is a very good football simulation again. Of course, there is still some flaws here, but we will above all retain its increased AI, its improved and fluid gameplay, its new modes... and the challenges of the training mode appear to be a really nice touch.

As a long-term PES acolyte who has favoured FIFA for the last four seasons, I'm heartened to see Konami's series finally approaching something close to its best form – even if it's not the domineering force it was in its glory days of 2004/5.

It's too obtuse for a newcomer to the sport, but those who understand the gravity of the phrase, "downloading the right Option File" and all that comes with it, PES 2012 is worth a look, once Konami has finally ironed out its issues.

Youll never understand why PES is better than FIFA until youve played football/soccer on a REAL team. FIFA is aimed at the average gamer, who plays "sports" titles, PES is enjoyed and love by real soccer/football players like myself. Expand

The all new AI-system works perfectly, matches are never the same, lot of players are recognisable, and the online mode finally works great! I really don't get it that some people can write negative about this game. It's such a relief that finally Konami has seen the light and will continue to rush to the top! Expand

Although I do not often use friend's control feature, it can be useful if it is on expert hands. There is one small thing that some players can be irritated from sensitivity of foul. There are also two important factors : Champions League and Master League. Just overcome a bias, you will have a fun. Expand

This is without doubt the best PES game released on the PS3 but it is still yet to reach the dizzy heights it achieved on the PS2. The gameThis is without doubt the best PES game released on the PS3 but it is still yet to reach the dizzy heights it achieved on the PS2. The game play has been completely overhauled and the result is really good allowing skills and great passes to result in fantastic goals. Fixing the problem that allows fast players to actually run clear and slow players not able to catch him was a definite and very pleasing to see. Also the ability to customize your own personal set up even changing how close your passes go to the nearest player is a very welcome addition. The only real new criticism (the old one's remain, graphics, commentary, licenses) is they have perhaps made it too hard and the computer is so tough to break down. Overall a good game but just feels like its lacking something to make it great. Expand

I mean, it's really easy to play even if it's on Legendary. I don't like how the players move, but the graphics are amazing. PES is still taking a dive, just like the previous 2 years. FIFA definitely has advantage this year, nothing unexpected. I think that KONAMI, doesn't have that much ideas any more, so the just advanced PES 2011. It gets boring after a couple days. Expand
