It has a few hours of enjoyment and despite maybe being a little too short; you will want to go back over and over again.

For those who loved the last game, it's a brilliant treat; a chance for one last blast while we wait for a full-blown sequel. For newcomers it's an inexpensive way to discover what they've been missing out on. [Oct 2008, p.88]
  3. Ratchet & Clank fans will be happy to answer this booty call...
  4. Whether you began busting up baddies as Ratchet on the PS2, or this is your first go-round with the lovable Lombax, you'll find QfB is one of the best titles to ever trek down the PSN path.
  5. All aspects of the game are refined and improved and the change from heavy shooter to more platforming gameplay is a welcomed and refreshing change.

Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty is a wonderfully enjoyable bite-sized helping of game goodness that will keep fans ticking over until the full release next year.
  7. When the game was over I have to admit I wanted more, but not because I felt cheated; only because I had had such a great time I didn’t want it to end so soon.

Four more hours of the classic TOD? Frankly, this is hard to fault. [Oct 2008, p.70]
  9. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty is short, beautiful and is perhaps just enough to tide you over until next year.
  10. Aside from the questionable price point vs. game length, Quest for Booty is a solid quality platformer that will please any gamer looking for a fun adventure as their favorite Lombax.
  11. Ratchet and Clank fans should really find themselves loving everything about Quest For Booty. At $15, this is one of the best bang-for-your-buck deals out there for all gamers.
  12. A well-done action-adventure, not only for fans of the Ratchet and Clank-series! Camera acts strange sometimes.
  13. The visuals and sound are on the same level as Destruction, while the action-oriented gameplay keeps up the pace. There's nothing of long-term value, no Captain Quark minigames or arena missions, but the journey is worth it.
  14. The game's stunningly beautiful visuals, coupled with a decently funny script made for an enjoyable adventure.

The gaming equivalent of a great burger. You'll finish it fast and be hungry for more. [Oct 2008, p.80]
  16. Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is certainly up to par for what the previous games have given us in the past, but in a much smaller scale at about three hours to beat, give or take some time depending on your Ratchet experience.

Insomniac has stripped away every inch of slack, delivering a consistently entertaining title where platforming nestles tightly against puzzle solving and hugs shooting sections. [Oct 2008, p.102]
  18. Compared to some other PSN titles it doesn't offer the same replay value, but it more than makes up for this in production values and overall quality.
  19. Although quite funny and obligatory for fans of the franchise, it lacks replay value.
  20. Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty is like Tools of Destruction divided by four. It's a fourth the length and a fourth the price, but it's almost as brilliant as its predecessor, and that's saying something.

Tiny but pretty humorous platform/fighting/shooter game. Non-stop action excels in perfect difficulty balancing. If only there were more than three hours of gameplay from the beginning to the very end. [Oct 2008]
  22. All in all, if you are a fan of the series you will no doubt be impressed with Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. And you absolutely know what to expect: gadgets and guns are this franchises staple. If you are new to the series this is not a hard game to pick up on.
  23. It is a solid R&C release, despite its shortness.
  24. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty is fresh and funny entertainment that the whole family can enjoy this summer. Insomniac Games achieved an action spectacle full of acrobatic jumps and simple puzzle solving. Three hours of adventures at its best for an adequate price.
  25. Considering this game was made for PSN, it still manages to pack in a brilliant adventure and therefore is well worth its asking price.

Quest for Booty's a fine addition to the Ratchet & Clank world, but what should've been a love letter to fans ends up serving better as a taste of what outsiders are missing -- and, as a fan, that makes me just a little bit sad.
  27. Quest for Booty ratchets up the fun, but its strict adherence to the series' formula won't bring in new fans.

The game is shallow, but focused, and Insomniac's aim is clear: short, sweet, episodic content - but Quest for Booty gives the player the sense that Ratchet just isn't meant for episodic styling.
  29. A solid, well written game that's bit on the production values. It's a little on the short side but it does serve as a nice warm up for the next game.

As far as a downloadable episode goes, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty serves its purpose extremely well. The experience is fun, fast and furious throughout the four hours that it lasts and fans will definitely get a kick out of seeing how the story has progressed.

An expansion to Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty introduces some new gameplay mechanics and offers a slight push to the story. For those who miss Ratchet, here’s four hours plenty of fun, that compensate the lack of content with a low price. [Sept 2008]

As current gen platform games go this is still one of the best even in a bite-sized package. As a Ratchet and Clank game however you're left yearning for all the bits they've left out. If you're a fan then there's enough platforming fun here to warrant its purchase just don't be expecting Tools of Destruction 2.

The humor, the great characters, the voice acting and of course, the fun! It's a short adventure, but it's great if you just want some classic R&C action without having to commit to a 20 hour quest. Very highly recommended, to fans and newcomers alike. Full Review »

Quest for Booty is a shallow extension of Tools of Destruction. The core of what makes the Ratchet and Clank games great is still there and Quest for Booty is a shallow extension of Tools of Destruction. The core of what makes the Ratchet and Clank games great is still there and still I recommend this for any R&C fan. Where old R&C fans will be disappointed is there is very little gameplay beyond the first play through and said gameplay is very linear. There are almost no hidden collectibles besides a few weapon power-ups. Gone is the ability to revisit levels to find hidden bolts or earn skill points. Full Review »

I agree with IGN's review of the game on this. Its a bitesized chunk of Ratchet gamplay bujt because its been shortend its missing something.I agree with IGN's review of the game on this. Its a bitesized chunk of Ratchet gamplay bujt because its been shortend its missing something. Its hard to pinpoint because in theory its got all the makings of a great ratchet game but somehow just doesn't get there. It could just be a lack of variety and charm that made the others great. If your a ratchet fan you'll still have a bit of fun but its just not as good Full Review »
