Honestly if not for some minor complaints Red Faction Armageddon would be a damn near perfect game. As it is, this is a strong contender for best game of the year for its fantastic mix of intense action, fun character customization that changes how you play the game, great graphics and all around fantastic gameplay experience. Even the minor flaws are easily ignored and most will likely not even notice them, as wrapped up in the game as they will be.

Armageddon is an unimaginative shooter, showing more creativity in Darius' tribal tattoos than in any of its combat scenarios. If you're looking for a memorable Red Faction experience, you're better off playing Guerrilla again.

Backwards sequel that sabotages or removes all the best features from the last game and wastes one of the best arsenals in gaming.

This game is somewhere in-between singularity and dead space, so if you like that sort of thing then this is for you. It's not open world like guerrilla but very, very linear. Loads of great weapons and enemy's and a decent story too. Quite a good upgrade system for weapons and powers which crosses over into multiplayer, and boy is multiplayer FUN! I will spend many hours online fighting off waves of aliens with like minded shooter fans. If you're looking at these reviews because you're thinking of buying this game. . . . get it, you will not be disappointed. Expand

  2. One word: Brilliant! I came in to this game not expecting much. Hell I thought to myself…”I’ll throw in Red Faction for a few minuets THEN I’ll get to some real gaming with F.E.A.R. 3 soon after.” The reality, F.E.A.R. 3 never touched my Xbox that night. Then when it finally did the next day, the only thing I could think about is how much I wanted to play Red Faction. True story. Here’s what makes this game great. Simply put, the action. There were times where I was flat out overwhelmed. There was so much to digest at times. That, is a beautiful thing. This is a perfect example of when a developer gets a hell of a lot of things right. Especially the explosions. As a gamer, you should never have to get tired of explosions in a game. Not only that, the variety of guns, vehicles, demolitions, physics, frame rates, the entire thing. It’s like they nit-picked all the good elements of all the good games out there, stuffed them in the developer oven, then said “eat up bitches!” This is just a sample of my FULL Red Faction review, if you liked it, check out the rest at filmshank dot com. This game is so repetitive...its just run..fire..run..fire...reload...run...fire.. the enemy AI is weak and just annoying. While it does sport some brilliant arsenal, you get pretty tired of shooting the same weak enemies. I really hoped for me but its a total let-down. better rented than owned. Expand
