  • Summary: The game starts off looking like the classic Space Invaders, but as you play through the game, it evolves. Unlock new stages, new power ups, and new features. In addition to Normal Mode, Challenge Mode pits you against 99 randomly-created stages. And Music Mode generates custom stages based on music stored on your console. The Invaders are back, and they're watching you. The more you play, the more the game evolves!

  1. It's a great reimagining of the original series, and certainly worth checking out for both fans of the modern "bullet hell" CAVE titles, and for old-school Space Invaders fans as well.
  2. Not just the best re-creation of Space Invaders I have played, it is also one of my favourite downloadable titles of 2010. This is an absolute no-brainer recommendation to anyone who played the game or its clones in the '80s, and for anyone who hasn't played it, you will enjoy a very quirky and unusual top-down shooter.

Overall, if you love old-school shooters and feel like you are up for a challenge then I would tell you to download Space Invaders I.G. to your HD gaming system or iPhone of your choice, this is a really awesome game.
  4. The action moves quickly and the presentation outdoes everything Extreme accomplished last year. Even if you've never heard of the Space Invaders, you owe it to yourself to splice in this Gene.
  5. 80
If you're a gamer with an old-school slant, a fervent fan of arcade shooters, or are a youngin' with a hankering for a history lesson (per se), well... look no further.
  6. Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is a great evolution for the classic series.
  7. What should be retro goodness becomes quite boring.

Really good. Captures the feel of 80's arcade games with spot on sound effects with old school graphics but moves at a frantic pace. It's not overwhelming like I thought the Galaga redo was, it's somewhere inbetween that and the Pac Man Championship Edition. Very addictive... and there's a reason to play it more than once, with a good record of scores, chain combos, and leaderboards. It also supports in-game music and there's a music mode where the background goes with your beat. For a $10 download on the PSN, it's a great addition to the PS3 whenever you want to play for 15 minutes or over an hour. Expand
