Surely there will be better tennis simulators in coming years, but after many hours with Top Spin 4, we can't imagine how to improve the recreation of the sport with such fun.

Accessible and fun, Top Spin 4 is the best tennis simulation around.

Top Spin 4 is probably one of the best tennis games ever made mainly by its simulatorish atmosphere and absolutely marvellous career game. The controls work like a charm with pad, but unfortunately the Move support doesn't work as well as it should. Motion controls make the game extremely hard. AI doesn't cut any slack and therefore there's no error for controller based errors. [June 2011]
  4. The best we can expect for now. [Apr 2011, p.112]

  1. Good Graphics, great gameplay, accessible, online loads of fun! The career mode is pretty good and rewarding and the gignature moves are very true to life except for the serves. If you like tennis this is a MUST have but even if you don't like tennis, check this one out. Expand
  2. Top Spin is the most realistic tennis sim out there, great controls make the game simple and challenging, and most importantly fun. Lots of gameplay modes, with a fantastic online mode, it rounds off a great package. 8 / 10 Expand

The game play is really nice a lovely feel to it ,controls are much simpler than version 3 but at the same time still require good timing which is what tennis requires. It looks and moves beautifully , character animations are very smooth and lifelike. The core of the game is the career mode which is brilliant, nice and deep , giving you a chance to develop your character in a way that suits your playing style. It does have few faults , a few sound issues on court sometimes, there is no commentary , which i think it badly needs, and it can be WAY too easy on the normal difficulty, Winning sets 6-0 all the time when your playing players that are several ranks above you is boring..ramping it up to hard provides a much better challenge. The problem is it becomes too easy on normal and TOO hard on hard when you face the likes of Nadal you'll be lucky to win a game. The developers didnt get the difficulty right, so after a while you'll put this game down and prob wont play it until you get challenged by a family member. Rent at best. Expand
  4. This is a chance game. There is a draw every time you hit the ball. Whoever wins it's not the best player but the luckiest.

    Graphics are grea
t, sound is great, general features are great. But these mean nothing without a good gameplay, which this game lacks.

I miss the first two Virtua Tennis games, also Top Spin 1 & 2 are better games than this one.
