Short, repetitive and uninspired. A generic campaign makes Rise of the Dark Spark a bad attempt to satisfy fans. Autobots and Decepticons will need a real transformation if they want to recover the fun in their videogames.

Transformers: The Dark Spark is a continuous wannabe. Boring campaign, dispensable vehicle form and an optionless online mode are burdens heavy enough for Optimus Prime to lift. Hopefully, High Moon will take charge of the following, true next-gen installment.

This game brings me back a lot of memories i have with the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games, and i'm glad to have this game on my collection. I mean come on, who doesn't love playing as the movie version of Grimlock? Expand

It's enjoyable, but Edge of Reality did a really lazy job. They copied FoC completely and mixed it with the crappy movie and a terrible story. The only online mode is escalation, making this even worse. Not worth buying. if you're a Transformers fan like me, you should just rent this for a little bit. Just leave the Transformers game to High Moon Studios, because they can do much better than this. Expand

6 positive reviews? Really this game has more positive reviews than negative ones? 5.5 is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much for this pile of feces. The graphics are atrocious, the gameplay is boring as hell and honestly, $50 or $60 is WAY too much! $20? Maybe, but not $60. I have a feeling the reason why this has a positive rating is because fanboys of the movie just rated it without playing it. Is it better than the last 2 games? Maybe, but it still sucks. But in my opinion, the PS3 version is actually the best. Even better than the PC & PS4 version. I don't know why, but the graphics just look nicer than they do on the other versions. Expand

This is too much water not enough sugar or flavor game. 40 plus characters? not really, not if you have 15 characters give them 2 skins and then have 3 characters with the same name but with 3 different builds. it would be like saying there are 150 mortal kombat charcters because you give a few a hat and a fan. This game is super laggy, super buggy and super glad i got the game for free. I encourage people to RENT this game do not buy this game. Expand

This is an awful game. They took the 'engine' from War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron and decided to mangle into it the idiocy of the new movie so they could try and make a few quick bucks off a movie tie in.

This is what I think: The end of the game shows a classic G2 Prime seeing the Dark Spark arriving. I really hope that this means that what happened in this game IS NOT what happens in the Dark Moon's version of Transformers Universe. If so, maybe this means Dark Moon will still come through with a third awesome transformers game.
