It's more than just the best entry in an outstanding series though - it epitomises the very reason many of us play video games. And that's its greatest achievement.

The visuals are breathtaking, the story is fascinating and the gameplay is never-ending. Uncharted 3 is like a fast-paced locomotive that cannot be stopped. The expectations were high, but Naughty Dog met them and even added an action-oriented frantic multiplayer. This third title clearly honours its parents, but as a child it does tricks with its pulsing vigour.

Words almost can't describe a game that nears perfection. And that is exactly what Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception does.

Uncharted is still an incredible cinematic experience, but its own issues remain the same: limited interactivity, often too linear. Despite this, it's still one of the best adventure titles of the year, one you shouldn't miss. Multiplayer is just an add-on, but a very well crafted one.

It's an amazing game with an engrossing singleplayer campaign and a complex multiplayer mode that allows for months of fun. But don't expect a massive quality leap from Uncharted 2.

Naughty Dog once again delivers a unique cinematic experience that has no equal. With superb graphics, unbelievable set-pieces, superb story telling and great characters, Uncharted 3 is a genre-defining game. Next time though, we'd like to see better shooting mechanics.

Two years after Thieves, Uncharted's gameplay mechanics and conventions are no longer dated; they're borderline archaic.

I'm not even a fanboy of the series. I only just recently bought a PS3 to play Heavy Rain (another great game). I beat Uncharted 2 and was mildly impressed. The story was a little meh. I literally just beat Uncharted 3 a half hour ago and I can vouch that the story and gameplay is much more interesting in the most recent Nathan Drake adventure. I couldn't stop playing it and beat it in 2 sittings. I've played about 10 multiplayers matches and that is also a huge step up from U:2. It seems like much more effort was put into that aspect of the game this time around. If you are looking for a wildly fun experience in an action adventure game pick this guy up. You're essentially playing through a really long Indiana Jones movie that has a better story. Expand

Naughty Dog shows again how the Uncharted franchise is the jack of all trades, with phenomenal set-piece moments, gameplay, graphics, audio, characters and so much more. The writing is clever and humorous while still presenting realistic human interactions. The environments will astound you with their beauty, with the only graphical flaws being the awful shadows (relative to PC graphics). Facial animations not only look beautiful, but convince you that the characters are real human beings. The gameplay this time around has a more weighty feel to it and Drake is a bit more unwieldy to control. Whether or not you like this change is up to you, as I personally feel like Drake is more human and adds a bit of welcome challenge to the game. If you have ever played Killzone 2 and 3, imagine that in reverse as Killzone 3 removed the gravity effect but Uncharted 3 adds it. Otherwise, everything else about this game is impeccable. If you have a PS3, you owe it to yourself to purchase this game as soon as possible. Expand
