A powerhouse of a game and a real boon for the PS3, which is in dire need of some fantastic shooters.
  2. For now, all you need to know is this: UT3 is the killer, exclusive PS3 app we hoped it'd be, and if you're not playing it, you're missing out on some damned good times. [Feb 2008, p.82]
  3. Technically very accomplished and graphically gorgeous, but ultimately unsatisfying, even in online multiplayer. [Feb 2008, p.102]

  1. Despite the fact that this game was released in 2007, it hasn't lost much in the passing three years. Quake and Unreal are unlike other games due to the speed so if you like the military shooters like CoD of MoH, then you'd best look elsewhere because you will have your ass handed to you here. With a decent amount of PS3 downloadable content (including Master Chief from the Halo series...if you can find it), Unreal still gives you a something new. If you've just bought your PS3 then it is a must buy game for shooter fans. You'll be able to find it for around $10-15 and you can still find online gamers playing single matches or campaign matches. I highly recommend this one. Time has not diminished this game in any playable sense. Expand

For this game to say it has a campaign or single player mode is laughable. All the "campaign" mode is is multiplayer with AI Bots and cut scenes. The muliplayer is alright, it's nothing special and I wasn't into it but I won't give it a bad score for that. My only real complaint about the multiplayer is that all the levels feel pretty much the same, they look different and they are not all shaped the same but somehow I kept getting a feeling of repetition as I was playing. If you are a fan of the unreal franchise I guess it's more of the same and you should like it (some of the weapons were cool) but if you are new to ps3 like I am I would recommend renting this one first. As pretty as still shots of this game are the slowdown is unbearable at spots. You'll be running along and turn a corner where an intense firefight is happening and you'll think you're watching a slideshow. More time should have been spent getting this thing to run at a reasonable framerate. First Orange Box, now this! When will PS3 getting a decent-running shooter? Expand
