A good chance to enjoy freestyle but also a technically outdated racing videogame that, on the other hand, reflects hundreds of details of the motorcycles in the real world.
Rainbow are back in the saddle and there's signs they are a little out of practice. There's nostalgic decisions at play which don't always work out in 2018 but can still raise a smile. Modes are what you'd expect and the visuals look occasionally impressive but the game struggles to keep things steady on the Playstation 4. The novelty of cross-vehicle madness still has hooks and races provide fantastical, open racing. Unfortunately, you'll have to overlook the ever-present performance issues.
The free physics make this game far more fun than any other current motocross game, and the track deformation is unmatched and makes the game much more realistic especially while including 2019 and 2020 AMA Pro Nationals. A few bugs including getting stuck inside track banners and the rare occasion **** crash atop me from leaving 10/10 but I can easily say this is the best motocross game on the market right now with a very active community surrounding it.
While MX vs ATV All Out had great potential, it doesn't always manage to hold up, probably because of a troubled developing. There are still some positive features to hold on to, while we're waiting for an eventual future chapter.
A small budget is not an excuse. Not only is MX vs ATV All Out an ugly game, it is crippled with bugs, its tracks are boring and the sensations non-existent.
One of the most unfinished, least fun games of recent years, and almost unplayably jerky on a standard PS4. A total disaster of a game. [June 2018, p.97]
This is a big improvement from the last game and they manage to add some activities that a lot of people enjoyed in earlier games, like freestyle and huge free ride maps. It is completely made from scratch and you get a new feeling to the series with the player controls. When controlling your character you really get the feeling that it is you, and not something thats scripted and wow, that is just a really good feeling and a huge bonus to the game compared to earlier motocross games.
I wish they had some more time to polish the game before release so people don't get frustrated by frame rate issues with the AI and of course the multiplayer lag and some other minor bugs.
When it comes to the result I think its a great motocross game that you have a lot of activities to choose from so it won't get boring in just a day. There is plenty of gear to choose from and there is guaranteed something to suit everyone. Unfortunately at the moment, it is not the best in the series, but it got its potential to be.
This is just awful. As far as the mx series in general goes it's pretty quality. Games like mc vs atv reflex, mx vs atv untamed and mx vs atv supercross encore provide evidence of this as those games are quality. This game is just garbage though. The controls are bad. The actual turning is somehow more twitchy then it was in mx vs atv supercross encore, and it's so bad it almost feels pointless using the second analog stick. The track design is boring, the graphics almost look worse then supercross encore somehow despite that being a ported game from last gen and the level 9f content on offer is really bad. Also there doesnt seem to be an option to restart a race if you screw up so you have to quit the race, wait through a loading screen, go to the pause menu, load up that race again, go through another load screen and then the game will let you play it. I really dont know what happened to rainbow games but it feels like they just dont care anymore. Incredibly poor game.
wow what a complete cesspit ****! as other reviews all over the web have pointed out, this is a terrible game with very poor framerates and very bad graphics, even untamed on the 360 had better graphics. really poor effort and there is talk of people sending the disk in the post to THQ headquarters to throw away. shameful and disgusting pre alpha stage and unplayable due to the framerates.
