Hungry Giraffe is clearly a product of a talented team’s passion. The cutesy visuals, adorable sound effects, and addictive gameplay are a joy to experience, and while it’s a shame that micro-transactions are present, the title’s such a bargain that you may not mind kicking the developer a little bit of extra cash.

Hungry Giraffe is an addictive, colourful game that will provide some entertainment for those looking for a quick gaming fix, rather than settling in for an epic story-driven HD experience. However, the novelty factor won’t last long with both the gameplay and the game’s quirky nature becoming repetitive and frustrating fairly quickly.

This new version of Hungry Giraffe is a shadow of its former self on account of some in-app purchase horrors. Grab the PS minis version instead.

As is always the case with this type of game it is OK for 15 minutes if you have nothing else to do while sat on the train but I can't imagine it will hold anyone's attention for all that long.

Matters are only made worse by the fact that the game tries to actively encourage the player to make purchases in game in order to unlock extra items and new stages as progress is relatively slow otherwise.

If you've gone to the expense of buying a Vita then this is a complete waste of time when there are so many better games available for the console.
