They're fun, they play well, and they still feel like they're worth playing a decade after the fact. Throw in the whole on-the-go aspect you get with the Vita, and it makes it easy to recommend picking this up.

Quite frankly, each game in the Ratchet & Clank trilogy is as charming and playable now as it was when first released.

The remarkable gameplay of Ratchet and Clank's first three adventures holds up in this great HD package, but don't expect a pitch-perfect port.
  4. Jul 4, 2014
Ratchet & Clank Trilogy brings back in HD three of the best adventure games that have ever been released in PlayStation 2.
  5. Jul 2, 2014
PlayStation Vita is a perfect console to remember the great adventures of Ratchet and Clank. Insomniac created some wonderful characters in very different planets.
  6. Jul 23, 2014
Ratchet & Clank Trilogy is a largely successful port of the much-loved action platformer. Looking on them in 2014, though, the flaws are more apparent, and the a couple of design decisions don't translate to the Vita all that well.

A terrible edition: a lot of aliasing, input lag and a faulty control scheme.

One of the Best game series of all time: Ratchet & Clank Trilogy! As a Fan of R&C,I don't have an Issue about this game. There is an issue about glitches and crashes, but as a fan,no matter what issue they throw to this game,Im gonna give this a perfect 10.I thank Insomniac and mass Media to their Best effort even if it is not perfect but the memories and awesomeness that this series give.I will keep this game forever, and let the other gamers experience one of the greatest game of all time! I noticed the other review about Ratchet and Clank Trilogy PS Vita, its really not credible giving the Low scores to this Game. Its very obvious about the other reviewer gave Low scores were not Game Expert. They do not appreciated the Travail of Mass Media, the one who ported Jak n Daxter on PS Vita.I know that the J&D Collection was very bad frame rate but still playable. But hopefully, they don't compare the previous game that Mass Media did (Jak n Daxter Collection) to Ratchet and Clank which is Run 30 Fps,Solid and Very smooth. In short, its Perfect! Imagine, one of The Most Memorable Game of all time in the Very powerful Handheld! I thank the Mass Media (Of course Insomniac too) because they gave us their Best to play the Ratchet and Clank Collection to Ps Vita. They made this for new players and for those players since 2002 to play in Modern Era. And for those Haters, please don't read this Review .And don't play R&C Collection if you don't Like, and don't leave any Bad Comment if you not Experience to play This Game! R&C Rules! Fans since 2002 :-) Expand

The framerate is amazing for all three games, literally no slowdown at all so far. I've played all 3 and the framerate is identical to the ps3 and ps2 versions. The graphics are better than ps2 or around the same level, the first game already had input lag before the vita version, but now the second has some slight input lag, the third controls absolutely flawlessly. Half of the cutscenes are low-res and not fullscreen, which sucks, but the games are still just as fun as before, and you can plug in earphones to hear the awesome music better now. So yeah, three great games, the rare glitch here and there, no framerate issues, great graphics and at least 100 hours of gameplay; worth the purchase. Expand

I personally only bought this for Ratchet & Clank 3 on the go, and Mass Media not only reached my expectations, they absolutely amazed me. Mass Media, the same company behind the disgusting work that was The Jak & Daxter Trilogy, has also included the other two main titles on the PS2 in here as well, and while the first game has some noticeable input lag, it won't break the game. The other two, Ratchet & Clank 2 and Ratchet & Clank 3 are absolutely perfect ports of truly astounding games. They have aged amazingly, the graphics are beautiful, not the best looking on the Vita, but beautiful none-the-less. The music and sound is great, along with the designs and cutscenes. Gameplay is a mix between combat and platforming, and it's great. With the exception of the black bars on the sides of the screen in pre-rendered cutscenes, this is a great port of some great PlayStation 2 classics, granted, the PS Vita isn't the best place to experience them for the first time, if you've already played it and are looking to revisit the early games, then this is a trilogy you mustn't miss out on. For the sake of good Vita ports, please, buy this game. Expand

I have this collection on PS3 and i always loved ratchet. If you want the best quality possible you should play it on PS3, but i think you should also consider this game for vita. Sure the graphics aren't clean as in PS3 version but the action is still furious and the framerate is solid. Compared to jak collection, this one is much better done although not perfect.
So if you want to have some fun on the go, give this one a try, i think you will not regret it. It still got that ratchet and clank charm from the old days.

Ratchet & Clank has never had that 'console emulation' on a handheld. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters on the PSP was close, but the absence of arenas and a second joystick definitely held it back. Secret Agent Clank was a completely different kind of game altogether, and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (Q-Force)'s PS Vita debut was less than stellar. Much less. But all of that has changed, now that the Ratchet & Clank Collection is on the PS Vita! I'm going to list information, pros, cons, and my overall notes and thoughts to help you decide wither or not you should be interested in this portable collection. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: The Ratchet & Clank Collection consists of: -Ratchet & Clank -Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando (Locked and Loaded) -Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal These are the first 3 Ratchet & Clank games for the PS2 developed by Insomniac Games (and ported by Mass Media).Currently, there is no physical release for the game in North America. However, the entire trilogy costs 3.3GB, which isn't too bad as long as you've already gotten over those rediculous PS Vita memory card prices. The Physical Version of this game sold in certain regions consists of a gamebreaking bug in Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked and Loaded, be warned. Oh,and the PS Vita port of Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal is lacking any sort of multiplayer functions from the PS2 version, which really sucks if you were expecting your multiplayer fix on the PS Vita. CONS: -Lack of Multiplayer Mode for R&C3: UYA* -Some Sound Effects are poor quality. (Things like Ratchet's gameplay voice clips) -Occasional Music Track skipping -Rear Touch Pad can cause awkward controls* -Slight Input Lag (most notible for the first game)* PROS: -SOLID 30fps (Like the Sly Cooper Collection on PS Vita)* -More polished than the PS3 Collection (PS3 Collection Ported by Idol Minds)* -The Color looks the same as it did on PS2 (Unlike the PS3 Collection which had washed out colors) -Custom Soundtrack (You can listen to the music downloaded on your PS Vita during gameplay)* -Menus have correct touch commands -Modified textures for handheld convenience -Strong Battery Life (I played R&C3 UYA for close to 5 hours straight and still had more than half my battery available. (I own the OLED 3G model)* -No black tansition screens (Make the game's presentation feel much faster) (* = Strong Points) THOUGHTS & OPINIONS: Since the PS2 & PS3 versions of these games ran at 60fps, the framerate may through you off at first, but you get used to it fast. Speaking of getting used to things, after playing Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal for a few hours, I was using the Rear Touch Pad instinctively with no issues. (Hours). Another thing worth mentioning is, I absolutely love playing on Annihilation Nation with music from my PS Vita, Custom Soundtrack really is an overlooked feature. And again, the lack of any physical release kept me sore, and I do hope Sony reconsideres one later down the road. The Ratchet & Clank Collection on PS Vita is less glitchy, but also less quality than the PS3 version. You're also walking around with 3 of the greatest games ever in your pocket, and I don't think I'll be going back to the PS3 Collection any time soon. SCORE: The Ratchet & Clank Collection on PS Vita may have a few issues, but nothing you won't get used to after playing for a while. I'd give it an 8.6/10 Expand

Ratchet 1 is ok, Ratchet 2 is broken and crashes more than often and Ratchet 3's controls are bad... I would put up with these issues, but when Ratchet 2 crashes so much that I gave up on playing it, then i consider this a broken product. Expand
