This game is really tricky to rate. Basically it is like this, if you own a copy of live 2002 then DON'T BUY THIS GAME (as I unfortunately did). This is exactly the same game in a new box, the exact same menu options and layout, exactly the same cutscenes will be shown and to the same gameplay. Out of the 5000 "new" commentary lines I haven't heard a single new one. I guess the This game is really tricky to rate. There is no Yao Ming (as there is in the PC version) and for some reason other players have disappeared aswell (my personal favourite player Sabonis is, for example, nowhere to be found). In this sense I would give the game 1-2 tops. HOWEVER, if you do not own a nba live game this is the best game ever made for the console! (as was of course nba live 2002). In that sense it is undoubtely a 10. Expand

This game is not what it is made out to be. I don't know where they got the "5,000 new lines". I haven't heard any new line that the NBA 2002 doesn't have. There are no annual drafts, no new players coming in every year as free agents, no salary caps, and no contracts. Of course, when you compare it to the NBA Live 1998, then you could rate it as a 10.
