  • Summary: Syphon Filter 3 looks, plays, and feels more like an expansion pack for the previous games than a true sequel.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 9 out of 19
  2. Negative: 1 out of 19
  1. The graphics may be dated, but it's still an amazing game. [Dec 2001, p.111]
  2. The story is as good as ever and backed by some of the best sound of any PSone game and a smattering of smooth FMV scenes the atmosphere is bang up there with the best.
  3. The controls are simple enough to master that you shouldn't have to pause the game to look at the manual just to figure out how to pull off a stunt.
  4. Syphon Filter 3 is a quality film with B-movie gameplay. The visuals, music, and CG are all top-notch, but the chewy gameplay center gets old after a few bites.

This game is fun. And I'm too poor to buy a ps2 so im glad this was game was made. Sure sometimes the graphics aren't good and the baddies are too easy but it is fun fun fun . Especially in deathmatch all this game needed were some sims that you can add and a weapon menu to lock and unlock weapons for the deathmatch. Expand

Well, at times this game is really fun and quite difficult too. The gameplay is nice, but no bothering about some innovation aie?! The best of the series, but not the best around. Expand
  4. Developers 989 Studios seemed to rest on their laurels when it came to the third game in the Syphon Filter series. With virtually nothing in the way of new ideas it still made for a playable stealth/action hybrid title but it was hard to not feel you’d seen it all before. Expand
