  1. In gameplay terms Lara's latest adventures are by far the best... but don't expect an easy ride... I say if you can't stand the heat.... then get out of the jungle.
  2. Tomb Raider III may essentially be more of the same apart from a few new bells and whistles, but with gameplay as engrossing as this, perhaps that's no bad thing. It still walks all over young pretenders like ODT.
  3. The AI of Lara's assailants is markedly improved, the level design is ambitious (sometimes overly so) and there are a number of small, yet notable additions to the TR repertoire.
  4. When in the first-person view, it is occasionally difficult to see what lies on the other side of Lara's back. It would have been helpful if she became transparent while in this mode, instead of making the player struggle with the angle. Fortunately, the instances where this affects gameplay are relatively few.
  5. A solid game, worth the time of anyone who enjoys a good puzzle/adventure title. Those who lost interest in the series with "Tomb Raider II" may want to give it another look with the third.
  6. Lara's back and she is sexier than ever. Which is what this is all about, isn't it?
  7. If you're fiending for some more Lara, and I mean absolutely jonesin'... then I guess you could pick this one up. For the other 99.9% of us, go play "TR" or "TR2" again or even for the first time. Or better yet, forget about Lara Croft altogether.

This is the standard of games that should be made, why don't SHs make games like this anymore? A perfect (or almost) game.

Unlike Tomb 1 that was revolutionary, and Tomb 2 that brought news and new extremely inspired and memorable phases (Venice, Maria Doria ship and mountains of Tibet), Tomb 3 was just "more of the same." Except for the first phase of the India forest and the first phase of the Pacific Ocean beach, the rest of the places to explore are boring and uninspired. London doesn't have the same urban charisma of Venice, and we had already just seen snow in Tibet, when they just decide to bring more levels with snow in the third game. Really? To make matters worse, the game is atrociously difficult - enough to make the experience frustrating instead of funny - and the level design is extremely confusing. Nevertheless, I love the bonus level "The Lost Artifact". If this phase had been included in the original game, in place of Antartica and the Nevada desert, maybe I would have appreciated better Tomb 3. Sorry not Sorry Expand
