  • Summary: The Ghost Rider feature film follows superstar motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze as he strikes a deal with the vile Mephistopheles for the most precious of commodities – his immortal soul. Now Johnny Blaze is forever destined to ride night after night as the host to the powerful supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider. The video game continues the storyline, dropping players into the role of Blaze as he is transformed into a super hero with powers to avenge any evil he encounters. Featuring many of the characters and motorcycles from the comic book and movie, Ghost Rider engages gamers in an immersive, supernatural third person world with a seamless blend of hand-to-hand combat and high-speed motorcycle action. 1. The fighting system lifts elements from all the right games and the new PSP style level selection helps stave off some of the monotony that curtailed the fun of the PS2 version.
  2. Unusually, the PSP version of Ghost Rider actually has a little more to it than its PS2 counterpart. [Mar 2007, p.60]
  3. Sadly, like most other movie tie-ins, this is marketed at fans of the film, not at gamers, and like Johnny Blaze himself, the whole thing feels a bit soulless. If only it also had the same level of flair.
  4. What starts off as a good old' fashioned beat 'em up title quickly becomes an exercise in tedium.
  5. While it does steal from some truly spectacular action games, somehow the action really doesn’t take off in this repetitive, bland action game. Even if you’re a fan of the comic, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.
  6. Metaphorically, it's like buying a CD only to find out it has one decent song on it.
  7. The game also settles into a rut: Clear an area of demons, advance, clear a room of demons, repeat. There's little strategy.

This game is amazing. I've been a fan of Ghost Rider for years, this game captures the capture perfectly.

Gameplay is brill, lots to do WHILE learning the vast amount of combos. For people loving devil may cry this can be a short replacement, but after learning all the moves it kinda gets boring. OH and guys you wont be riding the bicycle until later on in the game.. and where is Nicolas Cage? Otherwise.. BRILLIANT game. Expand

Damn, this game really isnt as bad as the "critics" say it is. It's actually pretty decent. What i like about it is that it takes place after the movie so theres no going over or playing something that you already saw or know in the movie (that is, if you saw the movie). The combat pretty much rips God of War and while obviously its not as robust as God of War, it is good. Not terrible, not great, but good. Graphics are decent, if not a little too dark, and the music is pretty good (mostly rock tunes which suits the game). My only complaints would be the lack in variety of enemies (there really isnt that much) and that the levels arent really levels, there more like arenas (move a little and fire walls ignite surrounding you and your enemies. Beat them move a little more and same thing happens) Lather, rinse, repeat. Overall, Ghost Rider is a decent time waster. Expand

Boring and repetitive. Hell cycle is uncontrollable.
