Summary Back to top
Lumines II is the sequel to the extremely addictive puzzle-based video game, Lumines. Gamers control squares made of four smaller block pieces that are dropped into the playing field one at a time to form same-color squares. The vertical "timeline" sweeps across the playing field from left to right and wipes the same-color squares from the playing field. Unmatched blocks pile up, and the game ends when the pile gets to the top of the playing screen. GameDaily
Lumines II comes out of the gate strong and never lets up in creating a perfect puzzle game, and it comes with our highest recommendation.

Worth Playing
Lumines II may not reinvent the wheel, but it takes that vaguely attractive wheel, gives it a facelift, and turns it into a beauty queen. The new visual style and the addition of streaming video make Lumines II an even more immersive game than its predecessor.

Original, ultra-playable and extremely cool - there's simply no alternative if you're seeking a top-notch PSP puzzler. [Christmas 2006, p.98]

Gaming Age
Like any good portable title, it’s meant to be played in short bursts, and that’s where you’ll get the most enjoyment out of this one. On the visual side, Lumines II contains every bit of style and appeal that the first title did.

PALGN
Despite a few questionable music choices, Lumines II has everything that you liked about the first game and more. It's still a great game.

GameZone
When a game is as much to play as the first Lumines then it’s hard to accept limited imitations packaged as new editions.

Game Revolution
The old songs mixed with the new, the unchanged gameplay, the redundant difficulty modes, the atrocious inclusion of really really bad music videos.

Entertaining puzzle game, but not the best. Addictive but like any other puzzle. Great Disappointment: Game Sharing transfer a One Player Entertaining puzzle game, but not the best. Addictive but like any other puzzle. Great Disappointment: Game Sharing transfer a One Player Demo to the ot¡her PSP That's not game sharing for me. Records don't have the name of a user if system is comparted, so competitivity is reduced. Music and videos in the game are no great (for my taste). Expand
