The gameplay variety is second to none with a good cross referencing of gameplay genres. You can also expect some surprises, as some famous playable Star Wars characters make an appearance. May this game be with you.
The singleplayer portion is a little on the shallow side, what with the brief campaign and the one-night stand nature of the Galactic Conquest mode, but the multiplayer portion is ripe with replay value.
"Star Wars Battlefront:Renegade Squadron" for the Playstation Portible is not about graphics ,but much much **** fact ,I give this game 5/5 stars given the fact that it provided me with fun missions.I found it odd that other gamers say that this game **** to me,it doesn't.
Great Job LucasArts!
When the battle’s done with and the bodies are rotting where they fell, Star Wars Battlefront is still at heart ‘Battlefield for Star Wars fans’ - and that’s what makes it great.
This is a very solid PSP game packed with tons of value. There is a single player campaign which can be bland at times but is still interesting, online multiplayer and galactic conquest. The single player missions involve fighting with an army against another army for control of capture points around a Star Wars map. The more you hold the faster your enemies reinforcement tickets count down, first team to run out of them loses. This is a great mix of action and strategy. You can customize the loadouts of your player depending on your mood and needs. want to be annoying? use a jetpack to flit around the map. Need to bring down a walker? make your primary weapon a rocket launcher. Or you can settle for a regular blaster rifle but instead gain more powerful shields or the ability to capture control points faster. This battlefront gives players the highest level of customization of any Star Wars Battlefront ever. The space battles also have their charms, you can bring down enemy ships by hitting thier many weak points with torpedoes or fly into thier hangar and bring them down from within. The online was fun and adds depth and replayability to the game. The conquest mode is like a game of space Risk where you have to actually play out a single player battle first in space then on the ground to capture an area. This game did have some drawbacks. The controls are not natural at first but you get used to them and the story is lame and does not add much to the Star Wars canon, This game is in my opinion one of the fullest packages ever crammed into a UMD and will provide hours of entertainment.
The Star Wars Battlefront series dark horse as it clearly puts the core concept of battlefront onto the PSP with its own unique customisation load out options. A simple solid game. Fans of the series need to try it.
I got this game when I bought the special edition Darth Vader PSP that it was bundled with. I enjoyed it then and recently picked it up again after buying another copy for my younger brother. The game is solid. Everything works just fine, the gameplay is about as simple as you'd expect from a game like this and playing with different loadouts is enough to keep me busy for a while. All in all it is well worth the $5 you can usually find it for.
The game is an absolute mess, where to start?
Well for one thing, the cut-scenes and graphics, normally graphics don't matter to me to much but they are just awful, not only that, but the cut scenes are hardly in full motion video,, it's some kind of lazy flashback style cut scene, isn't the point of the PSPs disc drive to be full motion?
The campaign can be really frustrating and it is just underwhelming, sometimes when I am given a time limit to do something, or an objective to protect something, I can't do it without trial and error sometimes because i'm either to far away or the friendly unit dies too fast.
Now maybe taking this all aside, it's considered a mediocre battlefront on the go, but the real rotten core of this game is the camera, it is atrocious, it always centers to the screen when your're not moving it, which makes it hard to aim because you always gotta jerk the camera around and there is no way to disable this feature.
Rebellion studios deserves the golden turd award for this, did you know that the worst metacritic rating on Steam is a Rebellion game? Did you know that most of their games have negative reviews by both critics and regular gamers? This is a middle finger to the fans like my self who adored battlefront 1 and 2, Someone at Lucasarts needs to lose their job, clearly, they and Rebellion have no sense of what the fans want, I will not be buying a new game from either anytime soon.
Oh and just for your information, i got this game on its release.
