If you're an action RPG fan, don't make the mistake of ignoring Spiral Knights just because it's an MMO, as it is a sublime example of where you can take the genre.
Ultimately, I'd encourage you to give Spiral Knights a go as you'll know before you've expended your first 100 points of mist energy whether you want to keep playing. The question of whether you'll have the strength I lacked to grind your way out of the constrictions of the energy system is another question entirely. If you treat the game as a dip in/dip out sort of affair, then I think it's possible to really enjoy it.
This is an amazing game! I'm actually sad, since I last logged on in 2013, and I returned now, sad to see that my childhood game is dying. If you like fast-paced games that are generous to free players, this is it. They don't make games like these anymore, and this may be one of the only ones left. If you are bored with most games, then try this; it might interest you. There are almost no cheaters or hackers in the game, which makes it fair for everyone! Please play it before you turn your back on it!
When I look at this game it reminds me of the humorous Diablo 3 logo. The one with the sun, rainbow, clouds and unicorns. It's this game! Having in mind that it wasn't designed for hardcore gamers, I can let some of the boredom resulting from the combat system's simplicity slide. But only some. [August 2011, p.70]
This game is an awesome multiplayer f2p mmorpg game with adventure missions that u could do with your friends or random people online(co-op). or you can choose to do them yourself. there are guilds, arenas, pvp, and an auction house
I didn't think much of Spiral Knights at first, just stopping in for the hat and moving on. But I chanced to play it with some friends and I disovered it's very entertaining in groups. It's a light-hearted, zelda-esque dungeon crawler with fairly fast-paced and entertaining combat, and obnoxious real-money purchases not withstanding, there's little to complain about. I can fairly say it's boring when played alone, so play it with friends.
I really like this game, From the weapons, to the combat, to the random loot and so on. However the storyline isn't very interesting and it mostly comes in play when you complete a mission that you 50% percent of the time had to pay some cash for. Sure, it's a pay-to-play concept sometimes but for an average Joe with a lot of dough it's not a big deal but if you aren't an average Joe the game goes very slowly without paying at least a couple of pennies, so after a while it can get tiring so a break is most oftenly in order.
Pros:
+ Random loot keeps the game going (sometimes)
Cons:
- Imagination is 95% of the storyline.
- Pay-to-play concept
- Gets boring if you play for too long.
In other words this is one of the games i would play just for one reason, which is pretty bad. Still, this game is entertaining in my opinion and by that: This gets a "meh but still good" score.
This game has an extreme lack of real content, does not offer new challenges as the game progresses, and is also insanely pay to win.
Game is fun for about a day or two then you start repeating the same content over and over, and even if you spend more money than this game is worth, you will still find yourself lacking in the things you need to progress. But that doesnt really matter cause you will be bored by the time you need to upgrade that far anyway.
SummaryThe Spiral Knights have awoken on an alien world. With their equipment stores raided and their starship failing to recover, they must now work together to survive on a journey that will take them to the very core of the world.
