Mixing old school scrapping with 21st Century sheen, this is a really solid scrapper.
Overall Spyborgs is a good game, although somewhat far from what Capcom promised. It is a fun game, although it becomes repetitive, above all by an unbalanced gameplay and the seldom sensation of not knowing well what is happening.
A "hardcore game" exclusively on Wii? Spyborgs is a old-style beat'em-up with something less than Final Fight or Captain Commando, since you can't collect weapons, there are no holds and no robots to control. The graphics are nice and there are some interesting extras to keep you play once you finish the main mode. Played with a friend, it's a lot of fun.
All that can be said for sure is that this otherwise fine and dandy game is simply missing something that it needs.
Were Spyborgs an actual cartoon, I would probably have been a little more merciful; it produces a licensed game feel, complete with the assumption that players could look up the story basics if they didn't know them. Unfortunately, without actual source material to benefit from, it has an uncomfortably messy plot without enough explanation.
Honestly, a game based on cyborg spies should be far more entertaining than what Spyborgs provides.
A thoroughly generic game with overly simplified beat-'em-up mechanics, extremely repetitive gameplay, and a crushing lack of variety.
