Besides these minor quirks, SC2 is a deep and complex foray into the Star Trek universe. The sheer amount of acronyms for the different spaceships alone is a testament to that fact.
The fundamental tactical combat engine is excellent and the hundreds of ship types and the multitude of weapon combinations should serve to provide literally hundreds of hours of enjoyment for any strategy fan.
The amount of detail present in this title is staggering, from the complex interface to the convoluted plotlines and the history of the ISC member races.
For the player who relishes a realtime space strategy simulation, nothing can touch the depth of this game.
It's terribly challenging and terribly addicting, although its longevity can certainly be questioned due to the design of the campaign game.
If you can ignore the bugs, the SFC V2 is one of the best games released in the past little while. However, in reality it isn't possible to ignore bugs in a game so my advice is buyer beware.
A game with so much potential and so many great ideas, but, despite being a sequel, it doesn't have the polish necessary to deliver a compelling game.
