  • Summary: Super Toy Cars is a tabletop arcade combat racing game featuring fast, cool-looking cars, impressive tracks made of everyday objects, and a bunch of power-ups that will let you destroy your opposition. Collect all the cars and upgrades to keep up with the competition as you progress in career mode, or have a quick race against AI opponents or friends. You can even play with up to four players locally.

There are 16 different cars in the game, each with its unique handling model. Experiment with them and find the ones that best suit your driving style, as well as the different situations you'll find in all 12 tracks. You may even want to use different cars depending on the type of event you're playing, because there are 48 events in career mode, but not all of them are races!

Super Toy Cars is big, with lots of options for you to tweak and play with, but most importantly it's been carefully crafted to be fun to play and fun to race in, whether alone or with friends.

Super Toy Cars is a fun game to play, providing a series of increasing racing challenges, the ability to play with friends and to create custom tracks. All of it is wrapped up in a nostalgic package that calls back to my childhood days, zipping around and letting my imagination do the majority of the work.

It is aimed at a young audience, but if you're playing with friends it can be fun. It could have been better though with online modes, though. Still, make sure you try it before buying it.

Super Toy Cars ends up being a mediocre outing. For some, it might be enough to play through the content it offers and bust it out when friends are over.

It lacks new ideas in track design, and the physics aren't believable at all. It's a budget alternative to Mario Kart, that's for sure, but with a lower price comes also a disappointing experience.

Drawing inspiration from Micro Machines, it is possible to find some basic foundations for a good time, but its lack of fluidity and the overall mediocre speed factor fail to throw the player into the action.

A simple racing game with a decent gameplay but no ideas. The lack of fun and of any online option, make this cheap title for Wii U and PC a product advised only for a young audience. Next time Eclipse Games.

Super Toy Cars is far from being a recommended experience.

The Wii U has no shortage of decent combat racers, and Super Toy Cars is the latest addition to its arsenal. A competent game all-around, it nevertheless offers few reasons to jump in if you already own similar titles.

The atmosphere of Super Toy Cars is obviously inspired by Micro Machines, with races taking place on settings such as a child's bedroom, a garage, and a kitchen. The pickings are slim, however, and the number of different ambients (merely four) doesn't come close to, say, Micro Machines V4, which was released way back in 2006. The graphics aren't the sharpest ever, but pack some charm, while the music is enjoyable enough.

When it comes to gameplay, the game feels closer to the Mario Kart series, eschewing a isometric perspective for a camera that follows each player around. Unlockable car models are available, each with very different characteristics, adding more strategy to each race. The physics engine seems a bit rough around the edges, sadly, while the weapon arsenal is limited and very bland.

The best feature of Super Toy Cars is a track editor, which puts the Wii U gamepad to great use. It features a very user-friendly, touch-based interface, allowing you to come up with and save several custom stages. The lack of a greater variety of ambients definitely hurts, but there's great fun to be had in the experience of moving dots, placing objects and coming up with your own ideas for tracks.

If you're looking for a good multiplayer experience, Super Toy Cars is serviceable and enjoyable enough for the price. The game does plenty of things decently, with the track editor being the only genuinely great idea. The existence of superior titles on the console (such as Mario Kart 8 and TNT Racers: Nitro Machines Edition) can make it a tough sell, but combat racing aficionados may find it compelling enough to give it a go.

A short lasting game that disappoints in several ways. There are few cars, sudden difficulty leaps, poorly designed tracks and gameplay is not great. This is a very poor wii u port that makes no use of the gamepad other than to copy the TV output and omit important things so you can't use it. The wii u copy crashes every 30 minutes and its astounding it got past QA in this state. The basic gameplay is fun but you cant tell what's going on at high speed and avoid-the-mines mode is unplayable at end game. Basically hour one of playing was fun, hour two the cracks showed, hour three makes you angry that it has so many broken concepts. Expand
