A fantastic game that no GameCube owner should be without. I enjoyed it and my girlfriend absolutely loved it.
For those of you that have sat behind the wheel of your favorite console racing game, STRAP YOURSELF IN! This is not your ordinary race-to-the-finish driving game.

Best game ever from mario kart and is my main favorite! I love it a lot even is too fun the 2 players for novice gamers to play on a single kart!

The look, feel, structure and incomparable Nintendo touch have been closely preserved, toyed with just enough to be labeled a substantial sequel. [Nov 2003, p.84]
Although the game is slightly disappointing on a couple of levels, the truth is its Mario Kart, who couldn't love it. The actual races are absolutely brilliant particularly in multiplayer, however the Battle Mode is surprisingly weak.
If there is one thing Nintendo can be relied upon for delivering, it is the quality of track design and there is no disappointment within Mario Kart DD. Right from the start on Luigi Circuit, there is an air of simplicity and yet a multitude of hidden complexity, choice, racing line and shortcuts to choose from on the fly becomes evident over time.
Mario Kart isn't a racing game any more. It is a party game, and anyone buying it for anything more than frantic, foolish, social fun will grow tired of being cheated very quickly indeed. [Christmas 2003, p.98]
if you hate this game because of the handling, you are bad. i picked this up after not playing mario kart for at least 3 years, and within less than a week i've already unlocked mirror mode.

This game is absolutely great fun. The problem is you’ll end up completing it in a day, so is it really worth the time or money. I would say no. Now, it would be worth getting if you intend to play it as a party/multiplayer game. But then why not just buy one of the newer Mario Kart games!

Mario Kart Double Dash está bien, y punto. Es sólido y divertido, pero en mi opinión personal, siento que le falta un "algo". Quizás sea mejores pistas, o puede ser el hecho de que no me terminó de gustar la idea de manejar el kart con otro personaje, pero siento que el juego no ofrece una experiencia descomunal.

This game is horrible. Why? Well let me tell you this. First up, the controls. The controls are HORRIBLE.
Your characters move all over the place while driving, resulting in colliding with walls, CPU players or even items you would normally easily avoid like bananas or shells. Second, the tracks. They are not designed well and some of them are actually really frustrating (Like the Wario Stadium or the ice stage). Next up is the soundtrack. For me, soundtrack is the most important thing in a video game and yeah.. that is lacking in this one. Not memorable at all and some are just a pain to listen to. The only real good soundtrack in the game comes from Rainbow Road, the final track in the game. It's also the only acceptable race track in the game. Next up are the graphics, which are honestly not that bad! Colorfull and sparkling, they really take full advantage of the GameCube capabilities. So yeah.. finally a positive thing about the game haha. Next up is the difficulty IT IS INSANE. Due to the bad controls you will swing back and forth in the track, making it almost impossible to get even first in the 100 CC Cups.
Plus the bad designed race tracks adding it all up makes for a very frustrating experience. The CPU will CRUSH you if you can't handle the controls and that's exactly what's gonna happen to new players to the Mario Kart series. Lastly the replay value. Like in Mario Kart 64, you can play the 50 CC, 100 CC and 150 CC all of which are easy or terribly hard, depending which one you choose. 50 CC is the easiest while the unlockable Mirror Mode is the hardest. But other than that, there is nothing else you can do in the game but that is understandable in a Mario Kart game; It was so before in the past so I won't call it a negative point. In conslusion, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is one of the worst games i've ever played in my life. Bad controls, bad camera angle, bad level design, frustrating AI and forgettable soundtrack makes this one kart game you DON'T want to ride.

This game is just plain horrible. Not only do you have to choose two racers for one kart, you also have terrible drifting, terrible characters like Petey Piranha and Diddy Kong (thank God they never came back) the flying Blue Shell, and worst of all: terrible tracks. I give this game a 1 out of 10 because of all this bullcrap.
