  1. Cars is not the most complex racing game around, but it manages to capture the Pixar spirit very well. Aside from this, it’s an enjoyable game with solid gameplay and a great presentation.
  2. Cars is a good game for kids looking for a fun and friendly title on the Wii, regardless of their stance with the film.
  3. Steering Cars with the Wii Remote works pretty nicely, but some of the minigame control schemes and a few Wii-version-specific bugs conspire to drag down this film-licensed racer.
  4. Cars is quite simply one of the best movie-to-game conversions in the history of the sketchy genre.
  5. It’s simplistic and easy, but if you have a friend it can be a good option to the other Wii racing games. Although I’d stick with Excite Truck, those looking for more speed in their Wii could see Cars as more unique approach.
  6. If you're a fan of the movie, it's worth at least a rental, and possibly a purchase. However, you might already own it on another system -- if so, you can ignore this version.

The game uses the Wii-mote decently, utilizing tilt to maneuver the car, but the choice in controller layout and lack of customization options for steering could turn fans off from the one-trick-pony that the Wii design ends up being.
  8. Although, Cars has been released for all the other consoles it might be the most fun on the Wii given the motion sensitive controls.
  9. The gameplay is nothing outstanding, but it's fun enough while it lasts, and overall it looks pretty slick.
  10. All of these things would make the game easy to recommend except that the racing gameplay at its core is simply too frustrating, the controls too inconsistent, and the races far too long.
  11. Don't expect to put the pedal to the medal and this is harmless Disney-fied racing. [January 2007, p.56]

It looks good, it's clever and upbeat, and it's well-balanced for the target audience. The remote just doesn't add much to what's already come out on other platforms, and in fact brings down the overall game in some areas.
  13. Cars is a great game - for kids. For the rest, as fun as the game is, there is not much substance to keep more mature gamers entertained.

The control options works great. The game is very simple but fun with 2 players.
