  1. Overall, Monsters vs. Aliens is a solid videogame adaptation from the movie. The combination of standard action-platforming, more traditional puzzle-based platforming and on-rails races that you’ll experience with the different characters provides just enough variety and challenge for the game’s target market. If your child is a fan of the movie, you’ll want to pick up the game.
  2. All together, I found Monsters vs. Aliens to be a fun game, something that could easily appeal to adults and kids alike, whether you were a fan of the film or not. The gameplay is addictive, great to sit down and play in short bursts, and there's plenty of unlockable content to keep you busy after you've finished the main story.
  3. If you’ve got a youngster who really took a shine to the movie, then we wholeheartedly recommend this game as a way to extend the experience. It offers a unique perspective from what you’ll see in theaters, as well as a quality gaming package overall.
  4. Monsters vs. Aliens is a solid game that really makes the most of its source material. While it’s relatively short, there’s a ton of fun packed into every minute of play time. Even if you weren’t a fan of the movie, the gameplay here is fun enough to recommend to anyone looking for a good action/platformer on the Wii. Beenox seem set to dispel the myth that all movie-licensed games need to be absolute crap, and I have to say, they’re doing an excellent job, so far.
  5. Activision and DreamWorks have another solid movie-licensed game ready for fans of the upcoming film.
  6. While not a deep or especially polished adventure, it'll keep you entertained for a weekend.
  7. Monsters vs. Aliens is a great family-friendly rental. It's the kind of game you'll enjoy alongside the movie – but not necessarily a game you'll want to play through more than once.
  8. Those that have played the other games in the DreamWorks Animation series might get a feeling of déjà vu when experiencing it, but if you’ve never played any of the other games, Monsters vs. Aliens should impress with its solid approach to an equally memorable film.
  9. I can only say that it was nice spending the half-dozen hours with my kids playing the game, and that my wrists really hurt from shaking the Wiimote around. There are some funny bits, but it's not as good as the movie.
  10. A game best left to kids who really, really liked the movie. Other kids and everyone else should look to get their gameplaying fun elsewhere.

Monsters vs. Aliens' biggest issue is just that it's so damned repetitive. What could have been entertaining in smaller doses instead drags on far too long, is recycled into tedium and ends up relegating the experience to the same bargain bin as just about every other licensed game.
  12. Monsters vs. Aliens isn’t a bad game, especially for the younger target audience it is oriented toward. It also isn’t a great game, as it is pretty short and generally repetitive.
