  1. If you like Mario Kart, chances are you’re going to like NASCAR Kart Racing.
  2. Upon first inspection, I thought that NASCAR Kart Racing would be just another quick rush to capitalize the success of the Wii. In truth, this is a fun game that can be enjoyed by a large spectrum of people.

After expecting a rush-job cash-in of a Wii racing game, I was pleasantly surprised that the game within NASCAR Kart Racing was a solid and fun me-too Mario Kart clone.

Kart Racing may not be the most original title in the stable of franchises, but it sure is loads of fun, especially with four people. The lack of online does hinder the experience a bit, but if you don't care about taking it to cyber space and enjoy NASCAR even a little, there is a ton of fun to be had with this peculiar title.
  5. It won’t blow the minds of anyone expecting a true NASCAR or Mario Kart experience. But if you enjoy the latter and want a fun clone of that franchise, NASCAR Kart Racing is one of the best made for Wii.
  6. Even though NASCAR Kart Racing may not be the most innovative racer on the market, that shouldn’t turn you away. The game is an unabashed "Mario Kart" clone that, while not looking nearly as good, plays almost exactly the same.
  7. A solid racing title that’ll appeal to any type of gamer. The game supports the same four control schemes as Mario Kart Wii and will provide gamers with an enjoyable racing experience.

NASCAR is a fine little kart game. The speed is representative of the actual sport and the gameplay is solid enough to warrant you pulling out the Wii Wheel for a spin around track a few times.
  9. NASCAR Kart Racing is still a very well polished and nicely developed Kart Racer that may not be the best the Wii has seen but is enjoyable nonetheless.
  10. One of the more unfortunate things about this game is that for a supposedly comical kart racer, the drivers’ personalities rarely come through. At its worst, NASCAR Kart Racing stands out as little more than a marketing opportunity in a sport already filled with them.
  11. NASCAR Kart Racing is a solid kart racing game, but its biggest flaw is just that there's so little to make it stand out. It's so amazingly similar to Mario Kart Wii, and the latter is a better, more memorable game in every way possible.
  12. It's not about to bump Mario Kart from the pole position, but NASCAR Kart Racing is a surprisingly solid effort. [Feb 2009, p.90]

I'm a huge NASCAR fan so I had high hopes for this one. It's been okay. The gameplay is pretty good. The controls are responsive. And that all about all I can say thats too good. One huge downfall is that there is no talking in the game. All the cutscenes are written words with some mindless jibberish being said in the background. And to top it all off the jibberish is usually in this accent that makes them all sound like straight up hillbillys. Alot of you may say they are all hillbillys. While most of them are, some of them are not. One more downfall is that there are times when you will get hit with 3 or 4 weapons at once. Yes, this does make the game challenging it also makes it annoying for people with short tempers (i..e. me). Other than that, my 4 year old played it and has no problem winning the occasional race.
