The original game was a kickoff of a great genre, but the sequel lacks the charm of the original one. Repetive music, ugly graphics, and clunky, unresponsive controls (dang paraglider!) makes this title a not must-play.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the first Sonic game I had ever played on the SegaGenesis and it felt good to feel like the fastest thing alive again on the Wii Virtual Console. This game introduced us to Sonic's most iconic sidekick Tails, including some catchy music tracks, a bit of multiplayer and some memorable levels like Casino Nights (my favourite). My only problem with Sonic the HedgehogSonic the Hedgehog 2 is the first Sonic game I had ever played on the SegaGenesis and it felt good to feel like the fastest thing alive again on the Wii Virtual Console. This game introduced us to Sonic's most iconic sidekick Tails, including some catchy music tracks, a bit of multiplayer and some memorable levels like Casino Nights (my favourite). My only problem with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, like many titles on the SegaGenesis, there is no saving options to save your game progress. Although, if you are an old schooler who enjoys retro games, you will find this little nitpick not a problem at all. Sonic fans and retro gamers will absolutely get a spin playing either Sonic, Tails or Sonic and Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Expand
