  • Summary: Spectrobes: Origins brings the successful series to Wii for the first time with a new story that reveals secrets from the past through flashbacks of significant events. In Spectrobes: Origins, players use the unique Wii controls to explore vast worlds, excavate three-dimensional fossils and unravel an engaging story while discovering the key to preventing a galactic threat. While immersed in the universe as never before, players fight enemies by controlling planetary patrol officer Rallen and commanding a Spectrobe creature at his side in large-scale, real-time battles. 1. The graphics of this game are pretty phenomenal considering the game is being displayed by the Wii.
  2. 87
Suffice it to say, you'll have fun if you give this game a fair chance.
  3. Spectrobes Origins is home version perfectly adapted from what we've seen in Nintendo DS. It makes good use of the Wii hardware and has a well-integrated story, which is bolstered by a great localization to Spanish.
  4. Spectrobes: Origins is an interesting evolution of the franchise, even if still aimed to a teen audience it happens to stand out as a solid and entertaining RPG recommended especially to fans of the genre. The game is visually impressive but plagued by minor faults, it does not last a lot but it offers some optional content and lots of creatures to unlock and collect.
  5. This is a cut above most monster collection games, but won't change the world. [Oct 2009, p.80]
  6. This is a decent game, and kids will likely enjoy it for a while, but it falls well short of being any sort of modern classic.
  7. 30
With a simplistic, weak story that will only entertain young children and drab, tedious gameplay that only young children could overlook, Spectrobes: Origins is a game that should only be played by kids, and even then, any Pokémon game will provide them with three times the content at three times the quality.

Far better than I expected. This, ghostbusters and Water Warfare are the only true local 2 player fps games for the wii. They all came out within a few days of each other and are all very very good games. Just scratching the surface of this one but loving it already! Expand

I was blown away by how good the game was. I love how the main character is in the battles and how the cinemas actually have voices and are acted out. The new spectrobes are very cool and the spectrobe that you ride to go faster is awsome (warning, you might get addicted and thus don't search for minerals/spectrobes as often). the only reason i said 9 instead of 10, was because even though the main character gets cool diverse weapons, the spectrobes don't do as much in battle as they used to unless there is a second player. Don't get me wrong, the weapons are cool, but spectrobes 2 for ds was going strong with combat. This combat is more fluid and fun, just less spectrobe action than i hoped for. Expand
