Super Mario All-Stars is precisely the same game you played on your SNES seventeen years ago-graphics, soundtrack, copyright and all. While these classic games haven't lost any of their appeal, this still feels an awful lot like an overpriced Virtual Console title.

The anniversary-party favor, Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition, fails on every conceivable level, and a few inconceivable ones, too.

  2. Not a bad release for the price, but disappointing considering this is supposed to be a celebration of 25 years of Mario. For people who have not played these games, it's probably not a bad purchase at all. For the rest of us who've played Mario from the 8-bit & 16-bit days through to the present, this is a lazy cash-in (and a slap in the face) that barely offers the value of Super Mario All Stars released on the SNES a little over 17 years ago! I personally would have preferred this had more extensive extras and a more complete set of games. I'd have been happy to pay more for a collection along those line, but as it stands I already own these games on multiple platforms and this collection is where I personally draw the line. I could have tolerated this set had the games received a new coat of paint and the extras had some care put into them. Overall, this is a mediocre collection of several superb games. I can only recommend this to hardcore Mario fans or people who have never experienced these games before. Expand

This is the most cynical release i've ever played!!! Mario All-Stars of 15 years ago . . .and thats all folks, except its £25! Couldn't even be arsed to update the presentation and include a still of a wii-mote on the info screen!!! 14MB of stale old graphics/gameplay simply "crammed" onto a 4.3GB retail disc! Think of what they could've done to celebrate Mario . . . and then look at this. Either update the graphics or don't . . . why are they advertising "25" years of Mario and then giving you the "15" yr old Snes remakes??? Surely it should be the originals on the disc although i don't know what would be worse!!! You could have easily included 'World, '64 and even ' Sunshine on a wii disc!!! This reeks of cashing in!!! Hope you all know what Snes9x is and don't waste your money on this shoddy, uninspired product. Shame ,shame, shame!!! Come on Ninty!!! Expand
