  • Summary: In the third-person action-adventure game The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, players take on the roles of Rick O'Connell and his son, Alex (played by Brendan Fraser and Luke Ford, respectively, in the film). Gamers follow the lead characters on their harrowing journey - across exotic locations from ancient Chinese catacombs to beautiful, but dangerous, Himalayan peaks - to defeat the revived servants of the Dragon Emperor (Jet Li). The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor allows players to switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks, and also features a fast and fluid combat system and an arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies players will face during their journey. 1. It all falls down because it's just not fun to play in any way, shape or form. [Oct 2008, p.99]
  2. 42
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor isn't without its charms, but it's hard to believe that the younger target audience will wade through the difficulty spikes to see the convoluted narrative to its conclusion.
  3. With frustrating gameplay, a very short and linear experience, and no multiplayer or unlockable modes/levels to speak of, TotDE gives players no reason to keep playing.
  4. While the game has a decent foundation it is lacking the polish that would have made this game at least fun. Avoid this game at all costs.
  5. Instead of giving you the game disc, the sales assistant could open the box and curl out a steaming log in there, and you'd have almost as much fun playing with it. [Dec 2008, p.56]
  6. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has all the right elements, yet it still manages to do everything wrong.
  7. 35
It's an infuriatingly unbalanced, unpolished and underwhelming experience that nobody -- not even fans of the movies -- should spend money on.

Boring, short, uncharming and frustrating, got it as a birthday gift, and I could say this is the black sheep of my Wii collection, never truly finished it because its incredibly idiotic gameplay just got to my nerves, could barely get after the tomb level (the first one), after that... well... simply could not... horrible...
