    It's an extended version of the wii play shooting gallery. Levels include baloon pop, sombrero shoot (clay pigeon), tin can shoot, bunny rescue (exactly like the alien invasion on wii play), shoot the badges (exactly like the target shoot on wii play), and wild west shootout (the only original feature).
    There are acheivements and rankings for each of the 6 set of games, but

    There are acheivements and rankings for each of the 6 set of games, but there's not enough here to keep you coming back. At 1,000 points and over 300 blocks of memory, it's only worth a look if you're desperate to break out the wii zapper again.

    People might be expecting too much from the Wii Ware games. Expectations of a game that costs *one fourth* the price of a new game should differ from expectations for DVD based games. Specifically - graphics, sound, and length of game play from start to finish deserve to be considered differently. One thing that shouldn't be considered differently is the "fun factor." Either a game is fun, or it is not. Will you think this game is fun? Quite possibly. Ask yourself the following: Do I like light gun games? Do I believe that "beat my high score" can constitute replay value for a $10 game? If so, you will enjoy this game. If your only idea of fun is a 40 hour RPG, or if your only idea of replay value is the ability to unlock things, then you're going to want to look elsewhere.
    Graphics: 7 - I don't know if it's 480p or not, but the graphics look nice on an LCD, and is in full 16x9.
    Sound: 7 - Around 5 different sayings are repeated over and over again, and add *nothing* to the game. No voice would have been better!
    Control: 7 - A little finicky, and would have benefitted from the ability to adjust the speed of cursor movement to be faster.
    Replay: 6 - Progressively unlock 5 stages (1 is open from the start), unlock a harder difficulty, and beat your high score! That's enough replay for a while! Oh, and there are achievements, but I can't personally tell whether or not I have achieved them!
    Fun - 8 - What is here is fun!

  1. Gameloft has crafted an addictive and attractive game with enough gameplay to keep you coming back for short blasts every once in a while, but there's not really enough meat on the bones to hold your attention for prolonged play sessions.
  2. There's an inherent appeal in shooting targets that never seems to dim, but Wild West Guns is far too content to let that natural amusement carry the load for its own tepid design.

    Considering the production values and repetition, Wild West Guns is probably pushing it with a $10 price point, but for those looking to swap their virtual crossbow for a slightly less-enticing six-gun, this throwback shooter very nearly justifies the investment.
