  • Summary: [WiiWare] World of Goo is a physics based puzzle / construction game. The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo don't know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious. [2D Boy]

  1. Not only is World of Goo easily the best WiiWare release to date, it's also proof that you don't need a large development team or millions of dollars to create an outstanding video game. In an era of video gaming where style is often emphasized over substance, it's refreshing to see a title like World of Goo that somehow manages to feature an abundance of both.

World of Goo is breathtakingly fresh while built on the foundations of genre classics. It offers a gentle challenge as you make your way through its seasonal chapters the first time, and then a fiendish one as you try to fathom quite how it's possible to attain the OCD targets.
  3. World of Goo should not be passed over by a single gamer. It is easily the best WiiWare game to date and, perhaps, one of the best this generation.
  4. A beautifully presented, elegantly constructed puzzle game that draws you in with its charm and personality, then keeps you playing with its addictive, inventive level design. [Christmas 2008, p.121]

Entertaining puzzle game which is different everything else I've been able to find. Multiplayer with more than 2 people can be frustrating but I believe that's due to communication, not game design. The goo balls are pretty cute in a static way and best of all, the humour on the signboards leaves you to figure out the level yourself, making it more challenging. Great game. Expand
  2. Ever since I have heard of "World of Goo", I really wanted to get it. When I finally do, I get right to it, hoping to be confronted by a great physics-based puzzle game. I immediately loved it! As I get further into the game, it got quite challenging. I even had to skip some levels. But, anyway, it was a great game. When you finish the game though, it can be quite hard to get back into it. At least for me that is. Because, having already finished, the only thing left to do is to complete skipped levels and to bet your high scores and stuff like that. Since it was a bit challenging, it got hard to do that. And when you can't after so many tries, you kind of give up for a while. So, overall, it's a great puzzle game. And I give it a good solid 8. Very cool game, however, it reminded me of a lot of free online games you can find. Simple rules, easy and intuitive controls. I beat it in 2 weeks though. I won't say it's a bad game, however I was a bit disappointed that I dropped some cash for it. I guess I expected a bit more. Hell...it's in the top 3 Wii games on this website, but is it really even close to Zelda or Mario? Final thoughts: loved the game, but not exactly worth the cash for me. Expand
  4. Dumbest puzzle game ever. Waste of time and money. WTF are you people smoking? I'm insulted every minute I play this game. This crap is the same things every smart phone has going on a zillion different times. Expand
