  1. Bonfire of the Vanities is far better than the first Assassin’s Creed II add-on, and it´s also a better gameplay experience because of its variety and fascinating historical context.
  2. Completists will certainly enjoy the three Templars' Lairs bundled alongside The Bonfire of the Vanities, but being forced to buy the accompanying memory sequence to access them leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
  3. This DLC is really good, and offers a few hours of great gameplay. Every single mission is studied to give the player the chance to consider how to play. With this DLC, players gain the possibility of exploring a brand new zone of Florence. Some audio issues ruin the experience, at least in the Italian version, but it's just a minor problem.
  4. However, this content pack falls prey to the same problem as the Battle of Forli does - its content belonged in the original game in the first place.
  5. The second expansion to Assassin's Creed II is better and longer than the first, but there's still a sense of a rip-off when these levels weren't included in the original game.
  6. This add-on is a flawed but refreshing way to revisit Renaissance Italy.
  7. It's the better of the two downloadable chapters, but you'll need to buy both to fully appreciate it.

I wouldn't call Bonfire of the Vanities a must play, but there are certainly worse ways Assassin's fans could spend four bucks and a couple hours. This is a fun little side story that lets us kill a few more bad guys in Renaissance Italy.
  9. The Bonfire of the Vanities drives us back to the madness of the religious censorship. Our hero Ezio Auditore will face Girolamo Savonarola, the monk who has stolen the Fruit of Eden. Again a new chapter that has been taken from the original game. Although it would be interesting to play The Bonfire of the Vanities and Battle of Forli along with the rest of the game, we find no reason to buy it as a stand alone addition.
  10. Bonfire of the Vanities is overall a much better experience than the Battle of Forlì, however is not an essential purchase and misses the level of polish and quality of the main quest.
  11. Bonfire of the Vanities completes Ezio’s memories and is, at least for now, the last DLC pack for Assassin’s Creed II. This time around Ezio is tasked with the assassination (surprise, surprise) of Girolamo Savonarola and his men. Removing Savonarola’s underlings is quite rewarding after Forli’s Cakewalk, and you get to admire the full extent of Florence, yet Bonfire of the Vanities offers nothing new. The adventure is worth its price tag, particularly if you buy the Secret Locations along with it, but nothing to exult about. [Apr 2010]
  12. The Bonfire of the Vanities is a definite improvement on the disappointing Battle of Forli, though it’s still difficult to call it a must-buy.

Its in-line with the regular game, so I MUST complete this now, apparently. It is a package of mostly instant-fail stealth missions. You know, the type of mission that is the worst thing the video game industry has ever come up with. The mission's aren't so much hard as trial and error until you find the right pattern the developers wanted you to use. And even when you figure it out, half the time the game's wonky controls will make you jump off a ledge for no reason. I highly recommend you do not install this piece of trash. Full Review »

Quite interesting DLC: long, with nine kills that can be completed in various ways, just as the original AC. I really enjoy it.
