  1. Call of Duty Classic has taken a big part in shaping the genre into what it is today. As out-dated as it may look it has nostalgic qualities to it and for 1,200 Microsoft Points it’s worth every penny for a true fan.

A genuine classic that's worth another look. [Feb 2010, p.104]

Truth is, $15 is a good price for a fun game, but I'm still not sure why you would choose to spend it here.

    Better as a historical document than a contemporary first-person shooter. [Issue#55, p.104]
  5. It's the same game you've already played in its more advanced form, making this more of an academic exercise in gaming genealogy.

Brilliant in 2003, Call of Duty is an old man in a young man's world. [Christmas 2009, p.118]

This game PROVES just how much we've been babied by developers because of the whole "hide behind a corner to gain health" idea. Beating this game on Veteran was probably the hardest thing to do not only on the original PC version but on this Xbox remake as well. Expand

Dated graphics, sure. Somehow it's just as enjoyable as it was when I first ran out to grab it for the PC, though. Infinity Ward always Dated graphics, sure.
