  • Summary: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with a campaign storyline continuing the struggle of U.S. forces against an invasion by the Russian Federation following the framing of an undercover U.S. agent in a terrorist attack on Moscow. Together with classic Call of Duty multi-character control, Modern Warfare 3 contains deep multiplayer support, including two-player Co-op Survival mode. The game also contains all-new Kill Streak categories and customizable strike packages that offer more options for player combat styles and strategies. Expand

Like a divorced parent trying to win the affection of an only child, the game dishes out rewards with every breath.

The multiplayer is the strongest it has ever been, and the coop mode has been expanded from an addition to a full-fledged mode. Modern Warfare 3 won't blow away anyone looking for anything new, but it will deliver enough thrills and quality to keep players engaged and coming back for more.

Modern Warfare 3 is what the fans expected - fast paced multiplayer action with some new twists and game modes that are a definitely a fresh breeze. But there are also a great campaign and the usual challenging Spec Ops.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn't do anything new, but it also doesn't do anything wrong. For better or worse, this is a slick and well-metered trio of modes that make an entertaining package, but Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward are simply looking to augment previous games rather than expand the series into pastures new.

Largely feels like an iterative title...This isn't to say that Modern Warfare 3 is at all a bad game-it's an attractive and polished effort with tight controls, addictive multiplayer, and the sense that one is truly on a battlefield, rather than carrying on a miniature war behind the scenes.

This is an exciting and rewarding game, but the series' signature thrills have lost some of their luster. Modern Warfare 3 iterates rather than innovates, so the fun you have is familiar. Fortunately, it's also utterly engrossing and immensely satisfying, giving fans another reason to rejoice in this busy shooter season.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn't reinvent gunpowder, but sticks to the recipe of the previous games in the series. With a decent story and good multiplayer it's a game worth playing, but the lack of willingness to add improvements in gameplay show a laziness often found in a complacent game series.

MW3 is what every CoD fan should want. A polished version of the great game we all love. I'm surprised how many negative user reviews they are? How many of the bad reviews were written by disappointed BF3 players???? There's no such thing as a CoD killer......... Expand

This game is unbelievable impressive. I picked this up for £45 at my local store which is a little more than I would usually pay for a game but you know what, I would pay double that for this game! Modern warfare 3 has everything in it to make it a classic that I will play for months to come!! A great campaign with an epic conclusion, a brilliant solo and co-op experience with spec ops missions, and the best multiplayer experience that you can find to date! now alot of people are giving this game flak because it adds nothing new, and while in some respects it does not add too much new the multiplayer, it doesn't need to, the small tweaks that have been made, means this is the definitive multiplayer experience on the market to date. a new edition to this game is the new call of duty elite service ( which at the time of writing is still offline due to massive requests to join the service), in which the short time I have had with it looks like a great service and im sure this is going to change the face of call of duty forever. To conclude my review, if like many due to the recession its become more difficult to buy all of the games you want to, this game deserves your money! There is more game time per buck in this game then any other and trust me, you will not be disappointed. Expand

First let me say most of these reviews must be by bf3 lovers because this game deserves no less than a 9 no matter how you judge it. It is great, it adds on the things we love about mw2, its the best multiplayer yet, it has awesome new maps, graphics, and tons of options. The review before mine is an obvious attempt to disparage the game from some goofball, bf3 seriously? I played the beta, it doesnt even compare. Expand

Score for re-selling Call of Duty 4 over and over again. Call of Duty will end up like Tony Hawk, Vigilante 8 or Guitar Hero series. Good work Activision!!! When games are made only just to earn as much money as possible they lose their charm. Expand

I used to love COD but this game is the absolute worst. Its practically the same game as MW and MW2 but with more added BS. The campaign is the same monotonous shooter and is boring to say the least. The multiplayer has been completely destroyed thanks to the additions that give weak players an advantage. Again, I used to love COD but I wouldn't recommend anyone go and spend their hard earned dollars on this garbage. If you enjoy being bored and extremely frustrated then go pick this up today! Expand

It's incredibly original and the story line is just amazing...I'm of course kidding. Please bring me something original in a modern age fps. Just shows that a whole bunch of money doesn't mean you will produce anything decent. Time to start looking at Half-Life 3 conspiracy forums again, lol. Expand

This fame is more of the same awful gameplay. It's glitchy, frustrating, graphically bad (it's technically alright, but the art direction is the same dull, bland feel) and it does NOTHING NEW. It's also horribly overrated and is a magnet for 12 year old kids to bunk off school. Expand
