  • Summary: Captain America: Super Soldier combines a highly athletic combat system with fluid platforming and a highly tuned suite of shield attacks, as Cap explores a massive castle turned military installation. His shield can be employed in numerous ways: taking out multiple enemies at once, deflecting incoming fire back at enemies, solving puzzles, and scaling walls. Players will be able to launch shield-first into the fray with the superior force of the world's first Super-Soldier at their fingertips and they'll need every bit of that strength to overcome a castle that's both an acrobatic playground for the Captain's physical prowess and a house of mystery with enemies and danger at every turn. The combat's fun, the plot's well executed and the multimedia's solid. If you don't mind a heavy dose of platforming with your non-gun combat, you won't be disappointed by Captain America.

Super Soldier never hits with as much force as Arkham Asylum, but for superhero fans, it's a worthy adventure.

Captain America: Super Soldier is a fun game that proves that not all move tie-in games are automatically bad. Next Level Games put forth a commendable effort here and the result is a good game that I suggest checking out.

There isn't even an opportunity to crack some skulls, as the Red Skull himself plays a brief scripted cameo, giving way to other lacklustre character steroetypes to flesh out the basic "evil guys take over the world" style storyline.

  1. If you liked Batman: Arkham City, you will like this. An excellent world war 2 adventure which has sets the bar for any other upcoming superhero games. Even if you don't like Captain America in general, the game is still good. With a good plot, okay graphics, and epic boss battles, you will never forget this game. Expand

Anyone who doesn't like this game obviously doesn't know what they are talking about. Ok its not going to win any game of the year awards and the amount of collectibles is laughable. However, if u have any video game skills at all and know how to use combat systems for individual games properly than this game is very fun. Throwing the shield couldn't be more fun and the platforming and swinging parts are some of the best I've seen ( I dare you to find a third person game I havent played, try me!). This game is the building blocks of something great. Other than the Arkham series, this is the best superhero game I've played. Enemies can get slightly repetitive but there are some many animations, beating them up never gets old. I just wanna know of there will be a sequel. I hope no one pays these critics bc they're opinions are terrible and I would never go by what they say !&$& spoiler alert -- no red skull battle? Better be a sequel Expand
  3. Even though it does rise above the usual movie-licensed tripe, with its fun core gameplay (which is basically a 'cut and paste' copy of Batman Arkham Asylum. One major factor that made arkham asylum so engaging was the creative and emmersive game world 'Rocksteady' created. This game does not provide this and that is an essential aspect to get right in a game like this. I can look based the boring story or the sub-par graphics, but I can't forgive the lame, forgettable game environment. Expand
  4. This game is absolutely the worst I've ever played, between framerate drops and terrible writing, animations that would be okay 5 years ago, and the complete lack of compelling gameplay, I think paid way too much when I picked this up out of the bargain bin. I mean come on, this is disgraceful. This game is a great example of how almost every marvel game SEGA has ever made is bad. This game was obviously a complete rush, I'm guessing maybe half a year to make, compared to the normal 2 or more year development cycle great or even average games take to make. Expand
