Choplifter HD is a worthy remake and a fun addition to the arcade library. Its pick up and play gameplay will make it easy for new and old players but difficult to master and complete the game. If you're looking for a quick game of something when time is short then Choplifter HD is the type of game for that situation.

Choplifter HD is not as addictive as the games I have compared it to, but it definitely walks that same line of action. If you enjoy small spurts of game time, with incentive to play levels over and over, this is a must buy. The price tag may be a bit steep for some, but it definitely warrants it if this is your thing. The game is polished, humorous and, most importantly, fun.

Good fun, if pricey. [Apr 2012, p.85]

Somehow the simple mission style, sharp cheddar-y dialog and voice work, upgrade-unlock-chase (that is in every game these days), and straight-forward controls do add up to having some real charm.

An attempt to bring a classic game to a new audience that early on looks like a solid and fun game, but after a while shows its not so polished design. What was addictive and challenging in the early 1980's does not fly today. The somewhat cluncky, unprecise controls and inconsistent difficulty level makes Choplifter HD a games that initially lifts off with confidence but crashes halfway through and never really gets some air beneath its rotors.

While the game in its essence is a side scrolling adventure, the frustrations of combining poor gaming controls with a lackluster HD graphic remake and next to nothing audio work make the 1200 MS point price tag an undisputed rip off of the gaming community.

The concept, gameplay, challenge and atmosphere of Choplifter HD are quite good. It is a nice trip back in the 80's, even if it is far from being a must-have today, as the game is particulary repetitive and its price is quite high.

Other fantastic classic, Choplifther HD is an old version of the classic title, but this version is the better, and the zombie mode, wow, is funny and hard, Choplifter HD is awesome. Expand

A new game, based on the old Choplifter: the game has nice graphics and light effects, and some innovations, retaining the basic gameplay of the original, with a 2,5D twist, nevertheless the game has some frustrating moments, with the Helicopter controls (too fast and with little control, like sliding in ice), and few missions in the total, being too much repetitive (trial and error). My score: 4,5 / 10,0 . Expand

Choplifter HD is a bad game. No more, no less. Game design is horrible, and do not deserve to honore the true old Choplifter. At 400 MS Points It could be a potential average game, but at 1200 MS Points, the standards are not the same. Expand
