  1. This steroid-pumped sequel works well.

A must buy for any first person shooter fan - if only to learn a bit of history.
  3. Doom 2 remains a superb shooter that even newcomers will appreciate.
  4. If you are in the need to go into a game and slaughter creatures in a mindless fashion, then Doom II is definitely for you. Do not expect top of the line graphics or high quality music, but you can expect a lot of killing and being killed as you play your way through the slaughterhouse called Doom II again.
  5. It’s a shame that the online aspects are so hit and miss, but the new chapter helps to smooth over that complaint. It’s old school and simple, but if you can look past that you’ll definitely have a blast with Doom II on Xbox Live Arcade.
  6. It’s certainly not as amazing as it once was sixteen years ago. But, it will scratch that itch if you feel nostalgic or if you have 800 Microsoft Points in your account begging to be spent.
  7. It's always fun to see Doom II again, but it doesn't make the big splash that it did seventeen years ago

As the original Doom it is dated but still awesome a new weapon from Doom and all the classic weapons as well co-op and multiplayer with split-screen and xbox live and a brand new episode Doom II:No Rest For The Living which is fun but not as fun as the original game but still good and achievements as well. All for only 400 MSP Expand

Played this game when it came with Doom 3. Very challenging and rewarding game just like the first one.

This is a very faithful port of the PC version of Doom 2 in all regards. Doom handles very well with an Xbox controller and the controls themselves are fluid and responsive. The original soundtrack is there and all the levels are fully intact, unlike many other Doom console ports out there. It's definitely worth it if you're looking to get back into Doom, but only if you enjoy the singleplayer or 2-4 player splitscreen. The splitscreen was a lot of fun and is great if you have other friends who enjoy Doom
There is a distinct lack of people who play online, surprisingly, and it's rare to get a game with 4 people (the maximum allowable) that doesn't lag. All in all, it's a great port. The trouble is that it costs twice as much as Doom 1 does pointwise, sitting at 800 instead of 400. If you're not a dedicated fan, you're probably better off picking up the first one, which has more online players and the same hectic gameplay

you can clearly see the age but that doesn't mean it's bad. it's alot of fun to play and controls really good. the level design doesn't work that well with the core gameplay though but that's my only complaint. Expand

This is the followup to the of FPS's. It's the same game, but different weapons and monsters. My only gripe is how long the campaigns go on, it gets tedious for me. Other than that, definitely worth your time. Expand

wow, I can't believe I actually spent 7.5 pounds on this stupid piece of crap. i only played for 30 seconds and i quit, this game is just too dated and horrible from every conceivable perspective to be worth playing. 800 ms points? nice way to rip-off people MS! and how in the hell did this game get a 9 on eurogamer ? it may have goten a 9 two hundred years ago, when it was "state of the art" by those times standards, but by today's standards this game is 0. ZERO. the controls, the graphics, everything just plain sucks. Expand

Without a doubt, you can find a better way to spend 10$. The game should of been 240 points, at the most. 10$ for a game over 10 years old, classic or not, is just unacceptable. Expand
