Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi is the best Dragon Ball beat'em up to date. It relates the entire Dragon Ball Z saga with barely any story gaps and includes original scenes from the anime. The graphics are well done and the gameplay is surprisingly diverse for a beat'em up. The only problem are the controls, which are not as exact as they should be. Overall, this game is a must-have for any Dragon Ball Z fan.

At the end of the day, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is an interesting addition to the franchise but when it comes to originality, the game is a little lacking.

Though the character customization may be enough for fans to spend hours in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi without complaint, the limited combat system doesn't encourage much thought. Preventing projectile spamming by employing quick-time events and coin flips merely replaces one problem with another. A cleaner, skillful, more polished fighting system would, ultimately, have been better.

  1. Just what i always wanted for a dragon ball game. It may not be the best fighting game there is but sure is the best dragon ball game. Amazing graphics, brutal ultimate attacks, engaging combat with beautifully animated cutscenes and of course custom characters. Expand

Not as good as i thought. I bought it the first day it had a 7.5 from game informer which is the score budokai 3 got so i thought it was going to be as good. I liked budokai 3 but not this game. It was a 75 out of 100 hundred on the first day. Decent graphics for dbz alright sound. Awful fighting! Expand

  3. I was extremely disappointed in this game. Besides the stunning visuals, the actual game play lacked in variety. Every character pretty much fights the exact same, minus the moves that are theirs. I guess I was hoping for more of a Budokai 3 style of fighting. I'll definitely start checking reviews more often, so I dont waste my money as I did with this game. Expand
