  • Summary: [Xbox Live Arcade] Duke Nukem is back in Duke Nukem Manhattan Project. New York City is being overrun by a mutant menace and it's time to de-worm the Big Apple. This 3-D action game features the politically incorrect action hero defending the city that never sleeps, and its babes, from the evil Mech Morphix across 24 levels from Chinatown to Space. A super-sized collection of weapons, enemies and bosses await. As Duke would say, “Babes, bullets, bombs. Man, I love this job!” Expand

  1. Dated gameplay and gags. [Sept 2010, p.81]
  2. Creaky. [Oct 2010, p.75]
  3. Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is going to appeal to a very niche market of gamers, mainly the ones who have found memories of playing the original Duke games, or even this 2D offshoot.

Maybe if the price was halved I'd feel a little easier about the thought of people buying Manhattan Project, but at its release it's a rip-off compared what else is on the market.

  2. The Xbox Live port of Manhattan Project is exactly the same as the acclaimed PC version, it is simply a hell of a blast to play. Duke's Lines will make you laugh and there's plenty of monster to slaughter. Expand

It's hideous. It tears, it runs at somewhere around 10 FPS, it looks like an N64 game, the projectiles seem to appear from outside the screen rather than from Duke, Duke controls like the Atari 2600's E.T., and the gameplay itself is completely unbearable. Even in 2002 this would have been a dud. Expand
