  • Summary: In this epic multiplayer-focused game, players can choose to defend humanity as a part of the Global Defense Force (GDF) or destroy it as a merciless Strogg alien invader. Players battle as one of five unique classes in either the conventionally armed GDF army or the futuristic Strogg invasion force, each outfitted with specialist weapons and combat hardware. In this adrenaline pumping fight for survival, warring forces utilize a variety of different vehicles, deployable structures, and defense systems including quad-bikes, tanks, and alien walkers for epic ground assaults; or helicopters and anti-gravity ships to unleash airborne attacks. Throughout each battle, teams establish bases, deploy defense structures, artillery, radar, and advanced forward-command systems into enemy territory while constructing and demolishing obstacles to speed progress and gain a tactical advantage over the opponent. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars features 16-player battles on the console systems, delivering the ultimate team-and objective-based multiplayer experience. [Activision/id Software] Expand

  1. Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is a revolutionary online experience, a paradigm shift in tactical multiplayer game design, and the online game that the console world has been waiting for.
  2. Xbox 360 owners should certainly consider giving Quake Wars a shot though. It's a very impressive package and should gain a decent online following.
  3. A well-structured multiplayer FPS that encourages teamwork over gung-ho heroics. [Aug 2008, p.71]

ET:QW on X360 is a watered down version of the great team-based PC title. The lack of new content coupled with the alarming fact that no one seems to be playing it make this one for the hardcore Quake fans only.
  5. In terms of value alone, it's difficult to recommend Quake Wars. You'll love the giant sandbox filled with such distinct classes, high-tech weaponry, and attack vehicles. But when limited to only 16 players on just 12 maps, the gameplay is one-dimensional.
  6. A lazy port of a fairly good game with no effort put into making it work better on a console. Slapping a party system onto it doesn't magically make it something special, and there are so many other things I can think of that could have been done that weren't, such as bringing over the best community maps, the previously mentioned dedicated server option, and making the controls more console-centric.

What would've otherwise been a fun multiplayer shooter is marred by a series of technical issues.

A fun and engaging team-based FPS with tons of cool weapons and classes!

Runs perfectly but somehow feels like a shell compared to the PC version. The controls are a little weird and I can't seem to figure out the aircraft controls. But otherwise a great game. Expand

plays a lot like "Frontlines: Fuel of War" which isn't exactly a "bad" thing. I like the slightly (and I do mean slightly) old school look and feel and being a huge fan of Battlefield 2 Modern combat, this game is right up my alley! Loads of fun! Expand

A game that will give me memories not like any other, addictive playing alone with the normal intelligent AI, though sometimes you feel like you have to do everything, but their smart enough to handle themselves in combat.. It feels like a destructive battlefield against the skills of teamwork from the opposite side. Though it gets repetitive and I took long breaks for while because it felt plain afterwards once I played it for too long.Overall experience of the game is amazing and it will forever be in my arsenal pack of video games.
