  1. The good news is that FIFA 07 is undoubtedly the best Xbox 360 game in the series to date. The bad news is that, in some ways, it's still inferior to its PlayStation 2 and Xbox counterparts.
  2. The controls still don’t feel right and dribbling can be a bit awkward but these are issues that don’t really cripple the gameplay.
  3. But as much as we wanted to hail EA's proactive progressive approach to FIFA as the great slayer of Konami's complacency, the fact remains that "PES6" is marginally the better game in ways that matter.
  4. All in all, I found myself jumping for joy after a hard fought goal more often than I found myself wanting to headbutt my 360 out of frustration like Zinedine Zidane.
  5. I will assume the reason features are being stripped from EA games on 360 is due to disc space issues. Do we really need to have space eating video highlight reels?
  6. If you’re a soccer game fan, then you’ll either really enjoy this game, or really hate it. If you only have a 360, then it’s a definite must buy as a soccer fan. However, if you also have an Xbox or PS2, I have to recommend that you stick to the last-gen version.
  7. If you like football games and you want to be impressed by something that plays fantastically well and looks next generation, then this is without doubt a fine purchase and a big step in the right direction for the FIFA series.
  8. Winning Eleven may still be a more joyful celebration of the sport, but FIFA 07's beauty and fluidity mark it as the early champ of the next generation. [Holiday 2006, p.74]
  9. FIFA 07 is an evolutionary step in the transition to next-gen gaming. Those looking for a revolutionary leap will have to wait at least another year.
  10. Those looking for the most complete and best playing soccer game this year will still want to grab FIFA Soccer 07 for the big black box.
  11. Massive improvements to the animation and the ball physics help to free the series, and make ever-increasing strides in closing the gap between it and Konami's Pro Evo Soccer. That said, there's definitely room for improvement, most notably in the number of leagues, the player models, and all-round audio.
  12. It's rare to see a game with so much polish pull it off in gameplay terms too, but FIFA 07 really is a fantastic piece of work.
  13. Many of the new features are well-received and while the others will take some getting used to, this is undoubtedly a move forward for the franchise.

A good, but not brilliant game. It's a vast improvement over last year's FIFA 06 and plays slightly better than 2006 FIFA World Cup. While gameplay wise it's still not quite up there with Pro Evo 6 it comes closer than ever before this time around.
  15. A fantastic start for FIFA 07, but will need some tweaking and perfecting in FIFA 08 to really bring over the doubters.
  16. A solid effort. The one-on-one shooter vs. goalie during loading screens is enough fun to warrant this one a rental all by itself.
  17. Everything in this soccer installment -- from the nimble online play (which now supports 2 versus 2 matches via Xbox Live) to the challenging set of achievements -- is well executed. Too bad every annual installment doesn't show this much improvement.
  18. It’s the best game of soccer available on the “next-gen” console and one of the best soccer titles to date.
  19. FIFA matches tend to be something of a goal-fest - thanks in no small part to some truly myopic goalkeepers. [Issue 17, p.64]
  20. 80
With its unmatched visuals, its superior soundtrack, its pleasant presentation and it’s much improved game play, FIFA 07 is a welcome addition to the football genre.

In 07, your AI sucks, while the opponents AI can grab you and pull you in a circle when you are about to make a shot IN THE PENALTY BOX - and no penalty is called. Even on Amateur the AI can make 10 passes in a row - IN THE AIR - and everyone will be perfect. And - if you're playing on Amateur - and you're facing the 20th place team in the league - you can bet it will be the hardest match of your life. The 20th place team will be the best goalie you've ever faced. Sorry, EA - but you bit the big one on this game. Full Review »

At the end of the day, it's a pretty solid game. New gameplay and a good carrer mode, makes up for a bit lacking game.
