FIFA Soccer 10 Image
  • Summary: On the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA Soccer 10 mirrors real-world soccer, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction between players. In addition, players now move, behave and position themselves more realistically. On attack, players analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better-urgency clearance logic provide new options that make defending a tactical skill in FIFA Soccer 10. In goal, a myriad of improvements and refinements to goalkeeper intelligence result in a more responsive and powerful rushing system and ultra-realistic saves. Better balance on lofted through balls, improved goalkeeper intelligence, more realistic shooting mechanics with less shots hitting the goal posts, a practice arena to perfect skills, and a more immersive soccer experience through continuous play and quick free kicks are just a few of the issues raised by fans and addressed in FIFA Soccer 10. Three new innovations revealed today at E3 have been developed to change the player control experience in FIFA Soccer 10. The first-ever true 360 degree dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible. Using an all-new animation technology, skilled dribblers now have the ability to face the defender and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him. An innovative concept called Freedom in Physical Play enables players to perform wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender. FIFA Soccer 10 also features a deeper iteration of the ever-popular Manager Mode with more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves. 1. FIFA 10 is all the best a football fan could imagine, you simply have to have it. The score is the right prize for a nearly perfect game that deserves the right prize for the work done in the last years that brought the average arcade game of the past, to the nearest thing to real football actually available. You'll stop playing FIFA 10 only when FIFA 11 will be on shelves. Great job EA, great job Moore, great job Rutter. You have to play it!
  2. Overall FIFA 10 plays a much more varied, fluid, and believable game of football, which easily sets a new standard in the genre. We spent a fair amount of time between matches wondering what it takes for a football game to get a 10 and we're inclined to believe Rutter and his team have actually achieved it this year. It's a marked improvement over last year's 9 rating and undoubtedly provides the finest videogame take on football so far.
  3. An overall improvement on the pitch but a game ruined by faults off of it.

This is easily the best soccer game ever made! First off, the gameplay is magnificent. There is now 360 degrees dribbling as opposed to the old eight direction dribbling systerm. The graphics are great but could be a little better. The celebrations are great and very realistic. Second of all, the arena mode is fantastic! It allows you to work on your skills and just have a little fun with 1v1, free kick practice, practice match, and set piece creator. The manager mode is not amazing but it is definitely worth a few seasons. Finally, the virtual pro is very fun although uploading the gameface is much too difficult. EA could have made it a lot simpler. Overall, this is the best soccer game out there right now and is definitely worth the money! Expand

Extremely buggy, especially in Manager Mode, which ruins the experience and completely outweighs the marginal improvements over 09. A shoddy product that disrespects its customers with the poor quality of workmanship. Expand

Multiplayer is fun but manager mode is near unplayable after a couple of seasons due to obscene number of bugs. At the moment in premier league on manager mode playing against a Hull City in 6th and a Hull city in 18th both with the same record and number of points while the real Hull City is in the championship.
